@larryt - where'd ya pick them up. Pretty (haha), but functional.

Completed largest project in my 12 years of Cruiser ownership. New LCAs, UCAs ( and frame bushings, fun!) rebooted CVs, new brakes, rotors, bearings, indexing of Torsion Bars. Now for an alignment. Truck came off the jack stands today after three weeks hibernation, she's got new legs.

Brake fluid flushed and bled
Front brake pads and rotors installed
Wheel bearings repacked
Spindle bushings greased
Torsion bars re-indexed
Front lifted 2"
CV boots re-clamped

Had Cooper S/T MAXX 305/70R18 tires installed today and although I only have driven with them a dozen or so miles they seem great. Noise level is on par with the former Toyo ATII (285/75R18) but these Coops appear to have more void area.

The ride is more compliant too...presumably, just a guess, from the slightly lighter weight construction.

Thanks @hoser for cluing me in on this size!

I've always been a sucker for the copper colored 100's:)

I run these on my 80 and love them. How tall is the 305?

^ 35" in this size.

Since there's no need for more seats in the LX than for the wife & I, I pulled both sets of the rear seating. Gave the 3rd row away - will build a small wood platform for the second row, then use them for a small sofa in the cave.

Finally pulled the fake wood trim out of the interior. First section was tough, then I turned the heat up high for about 30 minutes and the rest came off nice and easy with no residue.

Where did you get them? Very nice

Pretty much all wrapped up for now. Was amazed at how much the dynamat helped quiet the ride too. All in all, she feels like new..., only she's 10 years old with 106k

Did you buy this truck out of Dallas recently? It looks very familiar with that year, color, and mileage.

Looking good!

Discount Tire here in Nevada aka America's Tire in areas of California also carry Cooper tires. They didn't have this size in stock but happily ordered them for me. They will match any price you find that is lower; apples-to-apples. I don't buy tires, especially for my LC since they are the only tire shop I am aware of that offers an optional true no-questions asked replacement warranty.

Last fall they were on 2-month national backorder at Cooper but just 3-days to get these.

- 3rd row seat belts deleted. (anyone in need of belts and pretensioners?)
- Partially addressed sagging glovebox.
- Ordered new Cabin Air Filters.
- Began repairing stock sub. Unfortunately, ordered wrong foam kit. Proper kit on order.

Brought her home.
Congratulations, very big day. Did the baby come with it! All kidding aside she will change your life, congrats.

Looks awesome!

How did you make the decision to go to a different tire size? (If I remember correctly, I though you were quite fond of the 285/75r18 size).

Any issues with the 305/70r18 size fitting/rubbing?

[EDIT: Also, are those 8" wide rims you mounted them on (I believe that is what the '06LX rim width is, and that it was the same for the LC 18")? Any issues (the factory specs on their web-site suggested 8.5"+ rim...]

For more rugged rock-strewn trail work I thought I could use a little more air volume between the trail and the rim than the 285/75R18 tires (6-sets total) provided (in air-down/lower psi conditions). I wasn't aware the slightly wider 305/70R18 was available until last year when @hoser informed me Cooper started offering the tire in this size.

Without wheel spacers/adapters I can't run tire chains as the new Coopers only clear my upper balljoint/knuckle with about 3/4" clearance. But with less hunting in my future, where I needed tire chains on occasion, I don't see this as an issue.

Yes, I'm running the OEM 8" x 18" wheel size and really don't see any issue. And I do like a little more distance between the edge of the rim and the outer wall of the tire the 8" wheel provides especially useful when running lower psi in technical terrain.

Aside from driving around town yesterday with zero rub I'll need to withhold comment until I can get the rig on-trail.
