That's what I went with as well. The only caveat is that you only get your deposit back if the CV axles you trade in are OEM Mr. T AND rebuildable. I think a major portion of that assessment is the spline condition of the trade-ins.I went with these from CVJ Axles out of CO. No complaints at all.
Are you in emergency mode or good for a while mode?A moment of silence after 18 years of service, the driver side CV boot has finally submitted its resignation.

Good call. Glad you didn't need it as well. Always advisable to have a spare if you're going to go wheeling. Although the only real danger on established trails around here is the one obstacle on Poughkeepsie and maybe the optional obstacle on the way to the steps on Black Bear. Maybe some of the scree hills on Imogene. This is true, but I kept my old ones and rebuilt them for spares. Toted one up to COTRockies with me just in case, thankfully I didn't need it.

Once you're on OEM 18's there's no reason to go back, there's tons of tire size options for the 18's
Hey I have 16's too...If your rig is a mall cruiser, for sure. But for off-road use 16 inch wheels are better.
Just saying!![]()
FYII appreciate it gents, I called our local Mr. T dealership here in Las Vegas and their quote is $665 +tax per cv axle. Will consider what you all suggested including NAPA with lifetime warranty.
No doubt that tire selection pretty much sucks with 16’s. (285/75r16 for me) I think 17’s are about optimal, but wheel availability is an issue. 18’s make a lot of sense as there are tons of sizes and lots of available wheel options.Hey I have 16's too...but it's frustrating to try and find an equivalent to 34's...255/85R16 is a 33 or less in reality and a 295/75R16 is listed as 33.4 and is probably a little shy of that as well. I think the right tire on an 18" is just fine in the sidewall department even aired down.
Nothing major… a bath, air filter, front wipers, and new KO3s!No doubt that tire selection pretty much sucks with 16’s. (285/75r16 for me) I think 17’s are about optimal, but wheel availability is an issue. 18’s make a lot of sense as there are tons of sizes and lots of available wheel options.
How are you liking the K03s?
I've only just driven them home from the tire shop, but so far, so good. No road noise, smooth, and much more tread than what I removed (plus the old ones were super old). I plan to get it off road in the next couple of weeks. I'm (maybe obviously) on factory suspension, no lift, and there is no rubbing at all (as expected from browsing the tire size thread). I like the way they fill the wheel well a bit more than the 275/70/16s that I removed. How are you liking the K03s?
I had a great experience with Grieco out of RI recently on rotors and other heavy stuff. Shipping was way less than it should have been.FYI
Ourisman Toyota of Richmond has them for 360 plus shipping
