I need a second or third opinion on this bushing. The rubber is totally fine. No movement when I pry with a breaker bar.

The metal tab looks like it got bent by the alignment ears. It seems to me this would happen no matter what. I seriously doubt RockAuto would warranty this.

I have time to get a new one if they do, or I might be SOL and they keep my money on a new part order.

Update: I reinstalled the LCA and set the alignment back to my witness marks with the wheels on the ground. It's fine, probably. If not, I can replace the bushing when I install LCA skids next upgrade.

I would run it and not worry.

I scratched my paint

Replaced the a/c condenser on the '03 after finding the rock rash from 370k miles of driving! Hopefully the vent temps will be a little bit cooler now! Replace the original unit with one from Denso, easy plug and Play.

Wish my condenser was that big. Might turn my truck into a refrigerator.

UCA maintenance, strut spacer install, and LCA tune up.

Total Chaos uppers have been squeaking after a year of riding on them. I backed off the bolt/washers and greased with No.2 Valvoline per TC maintenance instructions in lieu of Super Lube. We'll see if they start to squeak in Ouray. I know Larry has had that issue before. The best way to remedy is a full bushing tear down and rebuild, but they are a royal PITA to install and I didn't want to take off the uniball. I'll be doing that when the bushings actually need replacing.

Alignment on Sunday. Even now, the suspension feels so much better and the ride quality is back. It leans into turns like it ought to. The extra lift up front feels really good and I'm happy with the rake, finally. I've got some splash guards from Rad Rubber Designs to put in.

this weekend I'm working on disassembling one of my OLD dh bikes (2001 Schwinn Straight8) to get repainted in orange. it's not a fast process. I got as far as step 1, removing the rear wheel and found the rear hub loose. the Rear hub is extremely rare and there are no modern ones available that will fit the ancient frame. So if the bike shop can't fix/tighten the hub up the bike might end up as wall art :(

update: The hub is good to go!!

Dang that came out nice!

I like that a lot! I’ve been contemplating doing my 4Runner, but as of yet, undecided lol.
Thank you. I really like it too. I have an extra gallon of the base so I am thinking I will buy a can of the tint from Monstaliner and coat my daughter's third gen 4runner for her birthday.

The most time consuming part of the whole thing would have been masking if I didn't have such great help.

I scored a like new soft cover for the Celica today from Craigslist. The lady selling it had a minty fresh 1978 Alfa Romeo in the garage she still drives. All original except for the ragtop. 5 speed. Original clutch. I also got my front end maintenance completed and checked off the list before Ouray. There's still a lot to do this week, but I've got a peaceful easy feeling.

Finally got the rear axle/third member reassembled on the '02 4Runner. And it only took me 2 tries to get the drum brakes reassembled on one side. There is a stupid piece of sheet metal that works with the adjuster like a ratchet and I assembled things in the wrong order on one side. The adjuster metal strap wasn't in the right position to work like it was intended. Took it for a spin and no more howling from the rear end. I'm going to drive it a few times to warm up the gear oil and dump what I just put in there to ensure all the leftover residues, metal shavings, etc. get drained out and then put some new lube in.

Swapped the coils on my 4Runner from Icon 2” to 3”. The 2” were a pain to get in but not terrible. These new ones were more work. Had to use the bottle jack between the axle and bump stop and a “please don’t kill me” spring compressor to get them in. I also didn’t seat the driver side correctly on the lower perch so I have that to do in a minute.

Oh man, glad you didn't kill yourself Did you not remove the bottom shock bolts and disconnect the sway bar end links? It doesn't sound like you since you had to put forth so much effort.

Yes to both, also disconnected the pan hard bar. I’ve seen a bunch of people post that they used a ratchet strap or had to have someone stand on the axle to get them in. They’re no joke super tall lol. The spring compressor actually didn’t feel too bad since there was no shock in the middle of the spring interfering with the clamps. Fixed the seating on the driver side this morning also.

+1 this is what I did. I stood on the rotor and my wife pushed in the springs. Glad you got it done. That bottle jack looks sketchy AF.
I was least worried about the bottle jack, but I’m always super paranoid about the spring compressors. When the rest of my stuff to do the shock rebuild comes in I’ll be using my buddies compressor, which is a stand and feels much safer.
