87 fj60: started to install a new stereo only to find out the front door speakers are toast..
87 fj60: replaced some window trim to keep glass from rattling..

moved the 40 and have lots of play in the clutch pedal so I am guessing I am due a new master or slave

replaced the stock starter in the 78 55 with a gear reduction one, and now have the battery on the charger.

getting the 88 fj 62 ready to pull the motor/transmission and replace all seals, injectors and go to a manual transmission.. I wish I could put an h55 in but I think I will have to go with the 4 speed for now...

So last Wednesday my 60 just decided it didn't want to idle anymore so I pedal pushed and choked it at all the stops wondering what the hell was goin on with it....Saturday after my kids birthday Marshall and I tried to trouble shoot it, Marshall cleaned the carb best he could but it still didn't idle so he cranked up the idle and I turned the cruiser off and went back to socializing...later that evening I buttoned everything back up, this morning I start it up for work and it shoots up to 1100rpm idling, well I figure it would settle back down as I drove it for the day but it even got up to 1500 so I had to put it in first and let the clutch out just to keep the rpms down to 1100 at idle, so when I got home I turned the idle back down around 600 and then drive it around town, seemed to do fine. Whatever was clogging the carb must of got pushed thru, but will be much happier when the transplant is completed....thanks for the help Marshall

Installed a grom audio kit and a ram mount for iPad. The ram mount almost cracked my iPad, and the grom shorted out the stereo CD circuit due to a crimp in the iPad charging cable....got all new replacement gear from grom no questions asked, pad holder.com upgraded my ram to the locking version, and I got a new eom head unit on eBay for 150. Not the easiest process...but getting there!

Drove from Florida to Michigan to La on a 8 day adventure in my 71 sbc soa Toyota fj. Crazy hot through the dessert but managed to make it and not be one of the many broken down cars along the highway. Can't believe I made it.

Towed the newly finished 45 out to Colorado and put a thousand miles on her in the high country trails and passes.

Reviewing the maps yields the following list:

Webster Pass
Deer Creek Trail
North Fork of Swan River trail
Middle Fork of Swan River
Mosquito Pass
Hancock Pass
Tomichi Pass
Engineer Pass
Black Bear Pass
Imogene Pass
Yankee Boy Basin
Poughkeepsie Gulch
California Pass
Alta Lakes Ghost Town
Ophir Pass
Animas Forks Ghost Town

I probably forgot a few, but it gives you a good idea of what we ran. I've got all the books and maps. If you happen to be in the Charlotte area before you leave, I would be happy to lend them to you.

all right time for a full trip report!!! PICS!!!

Not much to tell..... three trucks and 6 guys exploring ghost towns and abandoned gold/silver mines in the Colorado high country. Unfortunately, I take terrible pictures. They don't do the trip justice.

All three at the top of Mosquito Pass. It was 49 degrees there while temps were around the century mark on the east coast.

Ironically I don't have time to work on my cruisers at home since I have customers vehicles to do. So I've started bring my personal stuff to work and fixing it. Right now working on a dealer installed Clardy unit I bought sever years ago. I need so a/c in the 40.
What it looked like before and after.

Just ordered some replacement parts for my WAECO fridge. I've been having all sorts of t-stat/auto shut off gremlins since earlier this year. I finally got a valid phone number for customer service from a fellow MUD member and made the call. I'm replacing the main PCB assembly and the display PCB assembly, which pretty much covers everything. Parts + shipping was just under $120. Still cheaper than a new fridge, but if you are in the market for a fridge, there's an interesting Group Buy going on in the camping section: https://forum.ih8mud.com/camping-outdoor-gear/605102-help-me-decide-fridge-please.html Apparently some guy got ahold of about 60 Engel fridges in one of the Storage Unit auctions. All are used, some worse than others, but he's selling them for $350 shipped CONUS.

Saw 13 states, 7 national parks, and drove it 3,621 miles ;) few hiccups but nothing major.

Next week will be a few less miles but not much. Hope to be home by next Friday or Saturday.
