It's cool you're posting pics of the family, Jen. Spending time outdoors with the little ones, are when I create my fondest memories. Your 'cruiser is looking great too!

Thanks. I've been a little hesitant to post pics of my little ones (a little overprotective I guess), usually save those for the more private Instagram account. Thanks for the compliments on the Cruiser, its been running really good lately (knock on wood)!

Enjoying the late afternoon sunlight on the southwest shore of Oahu. They say that as the sun is closing in on the horizon that it is the best light for taking photos....and you guys know how much I hate taking pictures. Enjoy, hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

I finally broke down and washed it today. Baja and half a dozen trips to the Sierra since New Years. Been a busy couple of months. Oh, and bird s***. Can't forget the bird s***.

:bang:

Next I need to vacuum all the sand, mud, bottle caps, bark chips and steer manure out of it.

Not as sexy as @Aloha Jen but hey, still lot's of fun :p
That's my 5 y/o on the "hill" as she wanted to see if the truck car could climb it! Then she made me go sideways, left & right side... She sure loved going at an angle! She's gonna be a good co-pilot/spotter one day :)

Just a teeny bit more departure angle there..

Oh, and your sig still shows 285s. Gotta keep things accurate man

Headed out to Barbers Point lighthouse over the weekend. Pretty well known landmark here on Oahu, but its kind of tucked away and gets very few visitors at this secluded little beach park.

My little munchkin princess wanted in on posing with mom up against this fantastic green plant-wall backdrop.

Great kid! Protective is cool.

I don't know if it was just me, but when I stayed out at Barber's Point, I found the beach to me a bit rough. Cut my feet up pretty good wading out in the water. Maybe I just can't "Hawai'i". :(

It's called "Haole feet"! It's all about the time of year when the sand covers the rocks.

So, today I picked up Marjan from the German Toyota mechanic.

I forgot to get a picture, but this Toyota Dealership is out in the middle of nowhere, right smack dab in the place where the Naab River meets the Danube NW of Regensburg. Just across the road there is a cave with prehistoric cave paintings for something to do while you wait for your car to get done:

The mechanic was extremely skilled and knowledgeable; he showed me how all my interior wiring was basically shot, and how he had to redo the wiring loom. Cost me EUR 450, which is about $500.

Turns out the issue affected nearly everything. My windows now go up and down much faster, my PWR button light works, my stereo doesn't cut out, and yes, my rear wiper works normally, again. Am happy to be back on the road, but wished I would've stuck with it and fixed the problem on my own...

I know what you mean. We always want to protect our kids. At the same time, I do enjoy sharing with the community.;)

Yeah, but for $500 it's done and you will enjoy Marjan so much more. Sometimes it just takes a fresh and more knowledgeable eye.

When my spot lights were intermittently working I spent 4-5 hrs checking everything. They would work then quit when I hit a bump or something. Then come back on. I knew it was a connection or ground. Checked and checked everything 20 times. My buddy literally grabbed the first connection under the dash. He felt it, didn't even pull on it, cut the shrink on it and showed me. My solder joint wasn't good. He spent 15 min redoing all of my connections and they have been perfect since. Cost me a case of Busch Light. I was pissed and disappointed in myself. I got over that within a day.

Could you share a little more information on this?
I'd like to know what was wrong and what was done to fix it.
Corroded wire replaced with new wire? New harnesses? Just new wires/terminals?

So, the main harness that runs from the kick panel on the driver's side had bad connectors, and the insulation was cracked all along its length.

The mechanic gave up on trying to identify which wire was which and then just ran new wiring and new conduit most of the way. He also replaced the wiring in the lift gate with new wires.

The connector in the left rear quarter panel he just bypassed completely and wired directly to the taillight. The connector is there mainly to facilitate rapid assembly at the factory and it creates a potential point of failure.

He also got under the dash and just cleaned things up in general. A nice, professional job, and he really took the time to show me his work. Based on the amount of time to troubleshoot and fix, $500 was a deal.

@120mm I wish Olathe Toyota had a cave like that. I usually just take my coffee over to the lounge area and grab a donut. This would be a lot cooler.

Most of Europe is old and has some history; this place (Oberpfalz) is absolutely ancient. The mountains are Dolomite and are shot through with habitable caves; in fact, Cave Lions and Bears are reported here as late as Roman Times. At any particular moment, I can find iron, bronze or even stone age artifacts, just by knowing what to look for and digging around with my fingers in the dirt.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why aloha jen has so many more likes than me...

It's likely got something to do with your respective post counts, nothing more, lol.

@half k cruiser That's the price you pay to live in a generic suburb and in KANSAS. 50 out of 50 for tourism. You could move to midtown. Lots more to see and do there.

Or do what this KCMO native did and GO WEST YOUNG MAN.

damn, it's sad they are not protecting the prehistoric cave paintings. Odd for Germany.
