Built 1300' of barb wire fence and shredded a ton of cedar trees while towing this big anchor. LC did awesome on the 400mi trip. My 3FE is still slow, but keeps on ticking at 282K miles. View attachment 1092525I'm on the left with the red shirt.
Well, I got sick of leaky rear sliding windows so I leak tested them and figured out for sure that it was the shrinkage of the rubber runs. (Cue Seinfeld joke here)
So I let it dry out. Cleaned it with MEK on a rag, and applied a generous portion of black RTV Silicone adhesive. This is only a temporary fix until I a) have a job to buy a new window run and b) have a job to buy a driver's side lift up window by @LandCruiserPhil.
I tested it out and it works like a champ. I also noticed I had a window run that had a piece of rub "folded" in. I used the same silicone adhesive to glue it back how it should be. And used high tech, precision milled, wedges to hold it open while curing.
I'll smooth it out a little bit with a dremel when I get a chance. It doesn't look factory but it doesn't leak which is the most important thing. And it's not really noticeable unless you are looking directly there.
The letters in the beginning refer to the city it's registered in. Anywhere from 1 to 3 letters. The less letters the larger the city. "F" would be Frankfurt.
I'm assuming you mean a gun turret and not tourette's syndrome. Although thinking of Texas makes me want to swear uncontrollably and gives me the tics...

Finally got around to finishing my drawer system. I can do a lot of things but carpentry is not one of them. It looks OK and functions well. Right now I'm not using the drawer slides as they move pretty easy. I allowed some space for them should I decide to add them later. I added an additional compartment towards the front for a possible bazooka sub in the future or maybe a rifle. Depends if the zombies are the MJ thriller kind or the walking dead eat your face kind.

A friend had some family in town and a co-worker from China in town and they wanted to go exploring in Tillamook State Forest. "Do you want to come?" Duh, of course I want to come!
Lots of fun and the guy from China had a blast. I will try to post some pics later. We went up HoodRaiser, 7-Up and Hog's Back. I had to skip part of Hog's Back (stock LC) but the other guys did all of it. My friend doesn't care about body damage to his truck and you can get away with some things when that is the case. I need sliders.
And for anyone who goes that way, the OutAZABlue restaurant between Banks and TSF is very good. I always expected it to be some dive diner or something but it was very good Mediterranean food with some other options (pizza, salads and burgers). Open till 9 even on a Sunday evening which was nice.

Met this guy from Germany. He said this is a 2001 Land Cruiser H-zet-D 76 or something like that. He's been all over the world in it!!!!! Really neat guy.
Wiped down the interior, vacuumed and scrubbed the carpet, and removed the third row seats. The PO wasn't too keen on keeping the interior clean, especially the cargo area. I think the next task will be to remove the rear carpet entirely and cut a rubber mat to size to put in its place.
Finally replaced my brake booster with an OEM replacement from @mel lowe. After replacing ALL other Brake System components the only thing left was the booster. With assistance from @Chester we got it knocked out. WOW, it's nice to drive in a LC with a completely done brake system.
Fixed a code 52 by splicing the plug from a Tacoma wiring harness into mine (thanks @beno!) and then put a blue hub fan clutch in. The 80 was running hot under load recently I'm hoping the new fan clutch helps.
Filled up with gas this morning. 12.9 mpg. 4 months ago I was getting 6 mpg. I attribute the improvement to new plugs, wires, distributor cap, PCV Valve, new O2 sensors and EGR and VSV Delete. Plus summer gas. Last three tanks have all averaged over 12 mpg. With two of those tanks still running winter gas.
