Not to be a real Cee U Next Tuesday but if you use plastidip you’ve obviously got poor taste 🤣 looks good for now but it won’t.
Well, that’s the beautiful thing about plasidip, $7.14 a can at the Wally World, 2 minute wash, and reapplication. Took two cans to do the fenders and if I scratch them up, no sleep lost.

I think it it depends on the objective. The hood of my 4Runner started to develop spots of rust where the paint had been damaged. I knocked down the remaining paint with some 400 grit paper and got rid of the surface rust, covered the bare metal spots with some primer and then to improve the look and protect it further until I have the money to get a proper re-spray on the entire truck I hit the hood with 4 cans of matte black plastidip. That was over a year ago and it still looks as good as it did on day one.

I wouldn't respray an entire car with it but for single panels or, especially, plastic parts that will take some bumps and flex, it works really well and like @Ib8mud said. It's cheap to touch up. Great for trail queens.

I had a Rabbit GTI with pretty rough paint and some rust...went from original black to dip grey, then a year later got a little bolder...fun to play with and was able to do in the driveway both times with a nice day and no wind (I did use the Wagner airless sprayer!). One tip, go lighter and more coats...I went little too light really as it was a bastard to remove (too thin to make the rubbery skin), but gave it a "harder" finish since it wasn't as thick. Also the matte finish helped to hide the bulging fender behind the driver's front wheel...

Now the really fun part was the Callaway turbo hiding under the hood...15 psi and 175 hp/tq at the wheels, this little thing was a blast!

And just noticed, page 4000 on this thread... ;) :steer: 🦀

That thing’s so cool! I had a Mk-vi and loved every minute with it. Always wanted an earlier gen.

I went very light on the first two coats and then saturated. Drivers side ended up with 6 coats, drinkers side only got 4. I just got too hot and called it quits for the weekend, I’ll add more coats when I have time.

Haven't done a thing on the 80 recently... and that's good. The old girl is running as she should. BUT, pulled the trigger on some WKOR sliders and their t-case armor today. The 10% off sale was too good to miss.

Replaced brake pads / rotors / bearings - races and shocks. The shocks that were on it I believe were possibly intended for a vehicle with a 1-2” lift as they were loose top and bottom on the mounts ( or they were just garbage Gabriel’s and the manufacturer was like “ yea they should fit on paper “ Should’ve gone a step further and did the knuckle refresh because I have the parts on hand but time wasn’t on my side and the goal was to keep the cruiser from shaking like a crack baby every time I mashed the brakes ( boy can you really feel warped rotors in a live axle ) no pictures but everyone should know what that looks like.

Camped over the memorial weekend since I moved up to the 37s on my @Cruisers and Co obd1 stage 2 Turbo and was getting 13mpg round-trip over the Sierras. (360miles round trip).

No spare tire, 4.88 and 37s. Just myself and my pup...lightly loaded. A fridge and a poor-mans sleeping platform.

Curious as how this will hold up/work in the future. My understanding is this model of dryer is only supposed to be mounted vertically. I believe there are options for horizontal dryers however I don't recall where I read that.
In Dissent’s instructions, it states the dryer is supposed to be mounted vertically as you noted but they have not had issues running it horizontally. We’ll see what the future holds

279,262 was the end of the line for the original cloth DS seat bottom. The material was dangerously threadbare so I broke down and threw a Marathon canvas cover over it.

Edit: broke down and did the PS as well so the color clash wouldn’t be lopsided
