Anyone follow blackhillsbuild on IG? I want that damn bumper he's got
I emailed Dissent and they put me on a mailing list if they in fact put the bumper into production.

If my maths correct I've had my driver's license for 27 years now...

I've had my 80 for longer than you've had a driver's license. :)

Some trail riding up in flagstaff. Just a bit muddy. And then on the red rocks.

Congrats?
His comment about me changing my attitude after I've driven 20+ years is still the point.
I've been driving plenty long. And my back and neck injuries that have me disabled tell me that if I was going to cave in for comfort, it would've happened.

To be clear, 20 years behind the 80's wheel. Pretty sure your pushing 1-2 years with your 80?
Point is they are so versatile and a well built tank, as you go through the years of ownership your ideal perception of what your 80 does for you and how you use it will change. I personally don't do cheese and was joking, just saying if throwing tons of $$ at your 80 is not for you it may work for others, if nuts and the jet boil is your thing, great, it just isn't for everyone either, and the same for the 80, just because it does ok off-road, doesn't mean everyone heads to the most radical trails, bare minimum to tear their shi@t up and travel light and sleep on the ground.
Oh. I won't own this thing that long. I'd be shocked if I have it in 2 years. I don't keep vehicles. I scratch an itch with them and move along.
My daughter and I have already started shopping it's replacement.

I didn't say everyone needs to confirm to my ideals. I said... That me and my daughter laugh at those people.

I have builds that I'm sure confuse people.
A truck that makes enough power to run mid 8s if it was in a light chassis. But it's not. It's a truck that weighs almost 5k lbs with me in it. But I like my truck.

Just like people like bolting on every convenience accessory they can to their rig for a 3 day adventure. I don't get it. But it ain't my money.

Nothing saying I can't laugh it though.

I'm not sure @Dusten is even a real Cruiser fan. I heard he suggested installing non OEM caliper bolts once. :flipoff2:

Suggested? I did install them.
Probably why I had issues.

@Alpine4X4 yes that is not the right console for the 95-97 model. This is one I had printed for my truck and you can see the differences (curves up to the dash, etc). I deleted the little change holder because it just caught dirt.

Old post I know, but who printed this and/or is the print file available?

Perfect place to camp...looks a lot like Monache Meadows?

If so, was it possible to cross the first river to access the remaining camp areas? Haven't been up there since the winter storms, but heading up there in 2 weeks. Curious about the water level.

If not, then where is this?

Thank you in advance.
Yeah, it was in Monache. And the river crossing was tough, got our Land Rover stuck out there (not the depth but the mud) but there was another spot you could cross over.

2 Years can't come soon enough

I know. I feel the same way. Lol

I love new cars
I'm just jealous I can't afford a nice new truck 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣. I will be lucky if I can buy a 2008 subaru this year....

New to me. Not new. I've been watching new broncos but I'm not dead set on one. Hell I usually daily a 77 datsun

Yeah, I was at a convenience store and this little brand new Tesla parked next to me. Woman pulled herself out of it, almost huffing, stared at my Land Cruiser before walking towards the door and said, "Why drive that Earth Killer?"

I looked at her, smiled, and said, "Earth killer? She just needs a drill hole to get to the oil...yours needs to strip mine an entire village in a third world nation to get your battery materials. Yours blows up and catches fire after a software upgrade or after Musk goes on a twitter rampage because his feelings got hurt...mine will literally run on piss and vinegar and mud."

I paused for a beat and said, smiling, "My Earth Killer will outlast your Tesla, much like it outlasted my last girlfriend."

She huffed at me, almost snorted angrily, really, and proceeded inside, not holding the door for me ;)
When most of your personal identity is built on virtue signaling, it must be tough to pass up the opportunity to object to a Land Cruiser.

I lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in the aftermath of 9/11 and the beginning of the Gulf War, when "no war for oil" was a thing. There was a white 60 that street parked in the neighborhood, and some activist smeared blood red paint on it.

Just came back from a 3 day trip there. Amazing weather and some decent water crossings. Managed to get deep enough to fill water into the cabin.

@lasoundguy
@2KCruiser

Thanks for the heads up, can't wait to get up there! Unlikely I'll have the time to break in the new motor on my 80 before our trip. I only put about 200 miles on it so far. Will likely take the 100. Either way, looking forward to it!

Hit a milestone with the cruiser yesterday. 300k marks 8 years of ownership and 130,000 miles I have put on her myself since buying her when I was 14. So blown away and thankful for this truck and all the amazing places it has taken me with amazing people. Has been with me for some key moments in my life. Drove it home from the dmv, took me to prom, moved me in/out of college, and moved me up to where I currently reside in Aspen. Not to mention the many trips with friends alll around North America.

Still running like a top and hoping for many more miles and adventures to come. I debating treating her to a new exhaust system that it is probably due for, or a driver side Scheelman seat.

These trucks rule

Also put together a little album of some photos of it through the years. Pretty fun to see the evolution of it through my time with it.
AWESOME! Also we are twins. Mines black with the same style rims and tires and slightly different bumpers. Mine just has a lot more uh bumps and bruises.

My 96 that @Rouleur built over the last few months was delivered today.

First order of business, peppermint/spearmint oil mixed with isopropyl alcohol sprayed on all the fiberglass insulation under the hood.

The field mice and chipmunks like tearing into the stuff to make nests out of.

Is that an awesome looking engine?
