Spent 3 hrs putting the winch together resulting in a catastrophic failure session.
Couldn't get it to fit properly and the gasket sealer was a mess.

Long story short will make a gasket and finnaly figured out i had the dang gears upside down.

Live and learn i guess ....

Bet it was comforting that you were in the 80 in those conditions. A few years back I was in San Diego for Christmas, it was snowing going over the pass on Interstate 8 and I was in my wife's Corolla. The whole time I was pissed I wasn't in the 80 or my 3rd Gen 4Runner.

I will say the Yokohama’s are not a top notch ice tire. If I sipped them they would be way better. Fine in the pow but soso on ice.

I agree, but no MT is a good ice tire. My Yokos are in storage until spring. I run a set of 35’s with studs for the winter. Currently disappointed in the Cooper Maxx ST’s over the Duratrac’s they replaced. Wish I would have gone Grabber ATX with studs. Thinking I might buy a tire groover and start cutting. But they are still way better than the Yokos on snow/ice.

Finally got around to making the sand blast cabinet into a vapor honing cabinet (Wet sand blasting). So glad I did this thing is legit!!!! No more dingy aluminum on my builds. Under $400! Don’t ask there is tons of YouTube videos on how to make them.

I’ll take a before and after of some stuff I blast and post it.
I also use a old crock pot and let bolts and pieces soak on high for a couple hours and it is amazing what some heat with purple power will do. A couple scrubs with a brass brush and it saves me a lot of time and money on brake cleaner.
