Mounted a light bar on the Bowfin rack - had to notch the front panel a bit to accommodate the width of the bar but otherwise unremarkable install. Now for the scanstrut gland to get the wires through the roof... Anybody have a preferred location (i.e. front of roof, back of roof, etc.)?

Awesome, how did you decide to run your light bar wires up there?

Installed my Sparco seat.

@Dirt Ferguson

Man, what can I say...I've waited quite enough for this bracket so when it came in, I left work early to start my install

I could've made one at work, but I hate the thought of how inconvenient it'd be to bolt and unbolt my seat several times just to fab something up. Make sure to get yourself some hardware as it's not included; M8 x 1.25 and 16mm long.

Slick, they look great. These seats just moved high up on the priority list. 👍🏼

Winch finally arrived in the mail (rated recovery points didn't though!) so I went about installing it in my TJM T15 bullbar. This would have been so much easier as a 2 man job but alas I had myself and a 38degC garage to sweat in.

Decided to replace all the bolts with 10.9 grade; PO had used 8.8. In any case they were rusty and I had no idea what their life was like. There was more bolts on the front end of the chassis rails than I was expecting and I'm not sure if PO has added extras? Was 3 M12x1.25 bottom, 2 M12x1.25 top, 1 M12x1.75 (not 100% but course thread) and 2 M10x1.25 on the outer sides. There's so many bolts that they all interfere if they are too long.

While I was in there I figured out that I'm missing a stock bash plate and as a result PO has bent the power steering paperclip. Looks like I'm adding a Wits End cooler upgrade to my order!

Winch works nicely with the wireless remote but I'm unsure what the current draw is... I'm thinking I might upgrade the alternator to a 100 series 140A or something... more to buy.

Your synthetic rope will last a lot longer if you swap out your hook for a winch shakle mount: Factor 55 PROLINK XXL Winch Shackle Mount - Black

Not going to talk about them like they're the next best thing to sliced bread; few things to mention.

I've got 2 Corvettes, and have owned many more before that. If you aren't used to bringing your leg up over the seat bottom bolster, you won't like these.

If you are above 5'7", or above 165lbs (I'm a small dude), then you won't like these.

These seats really do hug you, and even though they're a bit more stiff than my worn factory seat, their ergonomics feel much better. I actually get a small but sharp pain whenever I ride in the factory seat, but with these I don't.

We'll see how they feel after some seat time and break-in.

Your rear track bar/lateral rod looks bent.
It appears that way...... Something else to add to the list to get ready for this season.

Have details on part numbers etc for the braided line and fittings? Looks nice and I need to do mine.

Yeah, is that a build you own brake hose kit?? Where is that from??

Not the weekend but was hoping to put these in this weekend….just got them back from the shop that pressed in Dobinsons 2.5 degree bushings but does it look right???View attachment 2934037
They're even marked!

They got ONE right!

No., they NEED to be correct.

I think I need a winch extension.

Get a set of ActionTrax 👍🏻
I have never seen traction boards actually make a difference. Do they even work? I just assumed they were overlander bling bling

They make a helluva difference if used properly yeah. Overlanders don't ever use them they just look cute 😂

But for wheeling solo in sand and snow they're a good bit of kit to have

Took all this apart, scotchbrited and freshened up the paint job that I did in a hurry last time....

Actually took my time cleaning it up and painting and clear coating this time. Still not perfect but better than it was by far. Not a fan of chrome. Even though my door handles are still chrome... Also redid the center section of my hood and my cowl. Muy bueno.

Can I just refer to my previously more lazy/hurried self as "previous owner?" 😂

On a negative note...my hi beams don't work after doing all this...

(Edit) Fixed hi beams 🤙🏻

Picked up a Murray heater valve and some 5/8 gates hose and some clamps. I need to replace my heater control valve and correctly bypass my rear heater.
