I just bought some of this. After reading about the tape losing its adhesion, maybe I will try some JB Weld and see if I can get a good install.

Perhaps a small bead of silicone? Wouldn't give away like the tape...(?)

- Finished pluming the F/R diffs, Transfer case transmission breathers.
- installed front SLEE DC shaft.
- Had the front DS wheel off and for some reason decided to do the wit's end PHH kit, sucked but done. Cut the middle mount off and pulled the bolt after. It's staying off.... broke the heater valve while removing the upper hose. ordered a new one. Was pretty crispy and brittle.
- Installed a wit's end triple spray nozzle kit. Wiper motors really need to be next. spray pattern much better but I think it empties half a gallon before one pass of the sloooooow blades now LOL.
- flushed the coolant.
- drained the engine oil. Still waiting for the Rotella to show...
- scraped and scrubbed more crud on the underside working my way back.
Front underside about done, hope to have the steering back on next weekend. @Delta VS any chance to get some newly added steering box reinforcement brackets out to a customer to trial way before the July release date? I seems to always pull the trigger just before you launch something...

waiting on this^^^^
And decided to remove the old Delta to install the new Delta
Had a new front grill I was going to paint and decided to give the chrome a try, minus the sombrero. Hate chrome. 1 of 3 collectors edition upgrades no more, at least it's not pitted.

That is the cleanest upskirt shot of an 80 series I have ever seen......

I am not sure how that is even possible but it is quite sexy!!!!

I might cry when I hit the mud but after all this work it's not staying in the garage. I'm going to get it out and use the shiat out of it and enjoy it another 20 years. Being a high desert truck its not too bad cleaning up. Give it 20 years and crawl under yours and scrape all that dirt off and it will be like brand new lol. I will certainly hit it with the rattle can SEM paint more often from here out tho.

Well, past 2 weekends…

WNOR sliders bolted on…as advertised, they are perfect out of the box and fit snug. (haven’t looked yet, but what do you LX guys do with the front fender gap where running boards used to mate up…modify a LC mud flap?)

Changed diff oil from Nitro gears break in. Like 2 metal flecks total in rear with none in front after about 900 miles. Went with synth 80-140W GL5 as Nitro recommends.

Completed installs for GMRS radio including custom antenna bracket from the Archer brothers (@POTATO LAUNCHER and @BombCity).

Replacement sound system. JVC head unit cause can’t get Pioneer right now. Focal door speakers and Kicker sub box with amp…the stuff I couldn’t afford when I was 16.

New shoes ordered. Should go on next weekend.

Been eyeing that sub for a while what do you think of it?

Happy send out some basic plasma cut ones, they will need more edge prep (of the brackets) before welding, but shouldn’t be too difficult.

Super happy. Much bang for the buck. And I’ve got it turned all the way down for the “break in”. Moves the front seats. It takes up very little space and has extra wire so I can move it around instead of hard mounting. You can stand and jump on the box. No problemo. I’ll set it on top of the drawer system when I get that put in. In the perfect world I’d have gotten the little Alpine amp that mounts behind the head unit to run the thing. Wasn’t available when I needed it and the kicker amp wouldn’t fit into the CD changer slot like I was hoping.

Been working on the rear wheel carry jig-thingy again. Added som curves and found a solition to hold the wheel

Now i need to work on the carrier for the jerry cans and i need to find a solution for the licenseplate and rear lights (they are being covered up by the tire, which is not legal here in Denmark...)

Finally gave the 80 some love and replaced the front Icon Stage 1 shocks. Driver has been leaking for a while. I recalled it being a nightmare but I'm sure I remembered it wrong and was being silly....after I put the grinder down, I think maybe I did remember it correctly. Whoever the ass hat is that designed a smooth shaft with a nut on the end needs to be smacked repeatedly and sent to the corner with the flat blade screw inventor. Honestly. I used the same aluminum blocks (made to hold the smooth steel shaft without damaging it) and C-Clamp as I did for the original install but installing with them is sooooo much different than removing one. I even tried using slices of inner tubes to help get a grip and shredded those, then added a big, sharp toothed vice grip and just watched the shaft spin and spin with the impact. Had to use a cheater box wrench to tighten the c-clamp handle and now it looks like a noodle.

Finally, the grinder made all my problems go away in a shower of sparks and I installed the new one with little trouble...not looking forward to replacing these PITAs later. Oh, and I finally leveled out my crooked steering wheel. Rear shocks are next weekend!

I had to put on my sunglasses to look at that!
