Spent the weekend bombing around Anza Borrego. This was a fun shakedown run for a lot of new gear and work done to the cruiser. Full new 3” lift, new 35’s, new rear drawers and Expo mat. I grew up tent camping and backpacking, so sleeping in the back of the cruiser was new to me! White Jeep guy wins for most bolt-ons!

Headed up to Tahoe for the week, skiing Heavenly on the NV side.

Decided I needed a break from skiing so headed to Tacoma on the CA side of the lake and found some mild snow wheeling on Old Rubicon Road where the famed Rubicon ends. Couldn’t get much closer than the staging area so wheeled back and found a hike at Emerald Bay and burnt a few calories there......

How much boost? Are u going to open up the ring gaps?
Just 7lbs or so. I was planning to do next winter, but kinda leaning towards now. I’m up to 160k mi on the motor so I think I’m ok on the rings.

Took her camping and fishing. Did some mild wheeling. Ate some good food, drank a lot. Good weekend.
A couple hundred miles on the LC fully loaded and she performed flawlessly of course. The access road was boring for her while the 4runner behind us had to carefully pick lines.
Beautiful fish, I love catching brown trout because size doesn't matter. They are so pretty that I am always excited to catch them. Plus they usually live in beautiful areas as well.

Brookie, not brown. Even better!
Nice, I saw the red spots and instantly thought brown trout.

This is what Utah brookies look like....

Nice!!!

Here in the mid Atlantic if you catch a 10 inch native, you've got a trophy.

We've got some huge browns in spring creeks and great smallmouth in the rivers but my favorite are tiny brooks in high mountain streams.

Interesting - so much variation in them critters. Right...your Utah brookie is definitely that (white trim on fins, dark body), but it's lacking what I consider the "normal" red spots with blue border, and the "worm" pattern on the back. The below pic is of brookies from a lake at about 6,000 ft in the southern Cascades near Mount Shasta, CA.

I didn't quite finish up last weekend but made great progress. Buttoned up the exhaust side and will finish up with the intake side next weekend.

Really excited to turn the key!

The PHH Monster isn't nearly as scary without its intake manifold lair to protect it.
