Still work to do on the driver's side swingout. I'm thinking the typical ladder/jerry can holder. Any requests on what you'd like to have added or optional? The main bumper components I hope to have mocked up on the truck by next weekend to work out any fitment issues. After that, I'll send it out to the shop for quoting. And yes if people are interested I'll build and sell them. Excuse the basic-a$$ wheel and tire. It's 37" in diameter but I just wanted something in there for reference. You'll still be able to use the bumper hitch like the factory as well as a receiver hitch underneath. That's one of the requirements I had. There's a couple of other fun things I am planning for it that I've thought hey that would be handy or that I've seen people mention here that they wished their bumper had so stay tuned.

Edit: Once the rear is done I'll start on a front bumper. The idea is to have things be optional for it as well such as light guards, extra lights, etc.

Bad day at the dump. Closed due to wind, day off wasted.

I did a little hood restoration, including all new seam filler, rubber, plugs, clips and hood liner. Thanks to @NLXTACY for the inspiration.

I also added the Delta Bracket for a SwitchPros 9100 and got some of the wiring done.

A good snow, for San Diego.View attachment 2610460

I didn't know that it could snow in San Diego. Do the people of San Diego panic like southerners when it snows, or are they familiar enough with the white stuff to keep their cool?

No pun intended.....

Another one getting a new short block and rebuilt top end plus many new parts.

Cheers

It would be interesting to see how the inside of that engine looks at 339k. I'm at 330k really the only internal issue I have is the very occasional puff of blue smoke on startup (old valve seals). The head gasket has never been changed (knock on wood).

Great to see you bringing new life into these old cruisers!

Just added front and rear sway bar bushings and caps from @NLXTACY

If you have certain types of front sway bar drop brackets, you'll have to get longer bolts than what's supplied (original with drop bracket, what Joey provides, and what I bought (from left to right)). Hex heads WILL NOT 🚫 fit in the caps.

Thought this was pretty cool. Found a part number in the Toyota catalog for factory wheel chock. Didn’t think it was going to show up, but just got delivered along with oil filters, plugs, and such.
Wit's end carries these as well. Don't know what it is about such a simple item but ordered one, not two... just to check it out lol. Still never used it nor ever likely will. Thought it was cool but not sure why it wasn't included in their crappy tool kit in the 80.
Good to see he is pushing quite a bit of product here again.

Been pretty busy with work and designing a rear bumper along with some ARB awning mounts for my rack but finally got around to replacing the front panhard bar bushings. To say the one at the frame needed to be replaced is an understatement...

Got rid of most of the go-wherever-the-f@ck-it-wants-to on the highway so I'm thrilled. Took about 30 minutes start to finish.
Any special tools needed? Where did you source your bushings?

I'm in the east county at 4,ooo' in the mountains. We're particularly hearty, 80 Series driving, types. The problem is when all the Flatlanders on the coast look up at the mountains and decide they need to play in the snow for the first time in their lives. This weekend it'll be serious gridlock in our small town. oh well..
