Agreed. Especially as one of the few that actually bought one new and paid all the money up front prior to dumping the standard wheelbarrow-full of mod money into it. As a matter of principal I refuse to cheapen my quarter century with this truck by subjecting it to Chineseium junk.

I started this weekend on Friday even though I have literally just been working on the cruiser for the past 4 weeks almost nonstop. Friday entailed swapping out my semi float rear axle for the full floater I sand blasted down and resprayed in John Deere Blitz Black. In addition to the full respray and full rebuild, I added a Harrop locker, diff armor, stop tech slotted rotors, Napa reman calipers, new lug studs,new brake lines, and Allen key drain/full plugs.
Then Saturday was spent preparing and painting all of the fender flares, swing outs, snorkel, and other miscellaneous parts with monstaliner. New fender flare gaskets while I was there...
Sunday was spent respraying all of my center caps, new machined spindle caps, sliders, hi lift handle, and bumper trim in VHT graphite. For some reason, this time the PPG clear coat reacted to the VHT graphite. I’ve previously used the exact same combo with the same prep and similar temps and the clear would always lay down smooth as glass.
Everything ended up alright this time around but not absolutely perfect like I had hoped.
I spent most of today putting everything back on. Several more days and the cruiser will be done and fully refreshed. Getting excited to be nearing the end of the road on this summer’s projects.

In a sense. I ordered up the Moto Farkle’s 9.5” diff armor. After trimming it and bending it more precisely (designed for the fj40 axle and not quite the 80 series), I didn’t care for the gap between the bottom piece and the top piece. I trimmed, bent, and sliced a piece of rebar in half and welded it between the two. Then did a whole lot of grinding, flap disking, and wire wheeling to flow the lines down from the top piece to the bottom.
If I were to do it again, and didn’t want to spend the 8 hours or so that I did installing it, I’d just do the bottom piece and call it a day.
Truckers need loving too.. or 5th wheel grease...Im guessing by your comment you are out on the road and need to get home for a night

Update: the pig mat stuff worked pretty well. I recommend double layering it if there is a lot of oil being spilled. I had a couple spots where it soaked through.
With all the electronics you got going I think it's time to ditch the fire extinguisher and install a FM 200 system.Installed a 3 outlet AC surge suppressor (1080 joule rating) with built in 4000 mAh USB portable battery pack to accommodate my ARB fridge and CTEK battery charger. Makes the battery much happier over the weekend.The battery removes very easily so I had to tie it in with some paracord. Need to come up with a better (nicer looking) solution to keep it in place while I'm bouncing around. No longer have to raid my work backpack for a USB battery on camping weekends!

The CTEK charger gets pretty warm but does fantastic on the wire rack. Plenty of air flow. Just need to move all the rack pieces around to keep the blanket and jackets away from the warm stuff.
Good stuff. Pretty standard in any oil/hazmat spill kit. Powdered absorbant, even cat litter, may work even better but then you have to clean it up too where pigmat just picks up.
