Upgrade wire storage system for more security and better organization. Testing starts this weekend viva Baja. Out of curiosity I weighted my repair parts and tools I carry, ~115lbs. total.

Do you have your rear, Deep Cell Battery hooked to your charging system in any way? Or do you just hook it to your solar panels 24/7/365? I want to put a battery in the rear, but I’d prefer the solar, just to take out any chance of “breakage” in the wiring over the long haul. It just seems better to keep it simple....KISS!

Cut the doors into my storage platform, added my “el cheapo” fridge slide (put 48 12oz cans in.... no problems!) Now... I’m going out to start my tire swing out for stock bumper!

I have a little Odyssey PC680 Battery sitting in the bottom of my rear quarter panel shelf. I have it wired in parallel with my house battery which are both connected to a Morningstar solar controller. I used to worry about the impact of having 3 different sizes and types of battery on the same charging circuit using the alternator and/solar panel. it's been 4 months now with no issues.

Yes there is a Battery in the rear passengers corner that is wire parallel with the main battery and both get charged by the ALt and solar.

So, you don’t use a solenoid? I’m curious because your set-up sounds like how I want to do my 2nd Battery. Why do people sweat the solenoid so much? Running in parallel sounds so much better...... nothing to break down or quit working.

Exactly after Consulting with the battery professor at ASU she convinced me that running parallel is a superior system

Not so much done to, but took some time to throw in my application for ultimate adventure 2018. We will see what happens.

Got a little more done today. Its not as high up as it is supposed to be, but i can still get the frame mounts higher in the air. Maybe 1/2”?

Sides swoop in about an inch from top to bottom, not as much as id like, id have gone 1.5-2” but with the back being 90* to the ground, that might have looked silly? Who knows.

Anyone know why there is a hole and another piece inside that hole?

Today, I bypassed the engine oil cooler. Got some sludge in the oil, and mysterious coolant loss, so I'll hope this solves it. I drained the sludge, and refilled with some old oil from my last oil change. Topped off the coolant with my Lisle funnel, and ran it up to temperature. After the thermostat opened, I added more coolant to the funnel, and let it idle for ten minutes. After all the air worked it's way out, there were absolutely no air bubbles, so I'm thinking the head gasket may be OK. I drained the oil again, and refilled with new Delo. Took it for a drive to town, and it ran at normal temp and had good oil pressure. Crankshaft seal has a leak, but it was there before. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this will cure the issue.

I’ll bite. Sidestep or protected light pocket?

Nice work BTW.

that was an additional 'aftermarket' tint that was put on shortly after the vehicle was purchased (i'm guessing). very hight quality and well applied to have lasted that long. that factory tint is 'inside' the glass - no way to remove it.

With the vertical clamp, are you getting any movement outward with the arm? Or does the locking force pull it down? Mine are horizontal and when latched because the latch point and clamp point are on the same plane there is still outward movement of the arm no matter how tight you adjust the clamp. Thinking if I move them to vertical like yours it will pull the arm into the bumper securely

In my limited use so far, no. I’ve even pried against it and here’s no real movement. Happy so far.

Installed the Equipt dash pad, very nice quality. The Velcro and sticky tape are nicely stitched. The only vent covered is the passenger mirror vent. I don’t know how productive that vent is so I didn’t use the sticky tape in case I need to flip up the pad a bit for air flow. Next will be the much needed seat covers.
