haha, I grew up in ATL, my best friend was from Lilburn, not far from Jimmy Carter Blvd. behind the huge temple. Wish i was into offroading back then =)
Quick overnighter in the canyon. Had turkeys, deer, racoons, roadrunners, and an assortment of birds wintering over in the campground. 9 miles of hiking and a great 2 days.
Dango @RFB clean those shocks they look they have started corroding already, you need some corrosion spray to put on um, I'll try grab cam from the hangar
Not quite the weekend but finally made a mount for the Puma this week out of some 1" angle iron I had in the garage. Seems stout enough, the whole truck shakes when I try to move it. I made it a little taller then others I've seen to get the coupler up to the window. Now to wire it in.
A close spot to you would be Peters Rd, in Fayetteville (may be considered Fairburn). Avoid most mud holes as most have been dug out by 35s. Going toward Greenville there are pretty cool dirt roads that lead to a few trails also
Installed a new fairlead on my warn Vr series winch VR are good winches but the fairlead they supply was cast and thick and i couldnt use my frontrunner license plate mount which just pops in or out last thing I need is any more attention on the truck. Also the superhook form factor55 is fairly new but already taking a beating.
Oh and I installed a new DFGoffroad titling fridge slide made in USa around 300 and very well made and he makes all types. So now I use the fridge slide I built for my tools makes it way easier to access them instead of being strapped down in backseat location. DFG Offroad and Paul from equipt1 sent me this escape gear dash pad which has already proven quite handy and it keeps the sun of the dash. And b4 anyone asks its does not block defroster at all, theres a cut out for the windshield defrogger.
Been having some random intermittent no start issues with the 80 lately. It always starts eventually if I wait a little bit, but decided to order a new starter that will hopefully go in this week.
Haven't posted in a while, but there has been some really beautiful beach days this winter on Oahu.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun Christmas weekend! Wishing you all happy holidays and hoping Santa brings you lots of tools and 80 parts!!

Thats cool! Would grab one if it was available in RHD!
Got some nice gear in the mail this week from Factor55. Not cheap stuff but the quality is bloody awesome!

I was just looking at the DeWalt boxes like that to pack my gear in. I like that they can lock onto each other when they stack and they are also waterproof if I want to strap them to the roof.
Got around to replacing my temp sensor. Figured to make it easy I would do it during an oil change. Also a few days ago, who’ll messing with the temp sensor, the knock sensor broke leaving its plug in the harness.
Today goes like this.
1. Drain oil
2. Remove filter
3. Replace temp sensor (pretty easy with the filter out
4. Start working on getting the plug out of the harness. It’s being a bit*h. Then the damn thing breaks at the wire. Wtf?
5. I rigged something back together. I had about a centimeter of wire sticking out of the plug. I soldered a short piece of wire on it, and crimped it back onto the truck.
6. Replace the knock sensor with the eBay special that cost me $30
7. Put it all back together and go for a drive
A mile down the road I pop an 0325 code. So either my sensor from eBay is a dud, or I Effed up the hack job repair of the wire. I’m not a fan of it anyway, so I’m ordering the pigtail from Amazon with free shipping for $14. I’m thinking my repair is the problem so I’m gonna start there, on a different day.
Had this happen on the way home today; my heart skipped a beat and then I realized that's a little over 62K miles and barely broken in.... OK, back to my thoughts of a cocktail when I get home......
