Took a little trip to finally get her out of the city! Had a great time - lockers are a little slow to engage, but they work! Crawled up some nice ledges. A few quick shots....if I can figure out how to post a video - I'll do that as well. The diesel sound and turbo whistle is great on the trail! :)View attachment 1392250

Nothing more intimidating then being out on the trail, waiting on the clowns in front as they try to drag their Heep up the hill using a couple of China winches, and hearing off in the distance and getting closer..... the sound of a turbo spooling up on a diesel! God I miss my diesel! Didn't need a stereo..... I loved the whistle of the diesel!!

Tried Driving to work today.... 3,000 miles since having rear differential rebuilt. Rear differential Failure again...

Sigh, this isn't normal right? Going to call the Differential Specialist that rebuilt it and see what can be done, "if" there is any warranty.

Also calling AAA towing to get the 80 towed back home... I'll have another winter drop off picture tomorrow.

New battery--free replacement of Everstart MAXX at wally world after I left something in the truck on as it sat for 2-3 weeks.

Had a busy weekend. I got my truck back from being painted. Gone is the emerald pearl that i could barely tolerate. Now it is a nice white. Spent the weekend bolting bits back on. Also fitted my rear 4x4Labs double swing out. Cant believe the quality of that product - absolutely spectacular. Thanks @4x4labs . Also fitted my front Arb which took a little persuasion...

I changed out all the glass for clear lenses as well.

Refurbished the rear door lock.

The GF has a shoulder injury that was making the rear door reach-around too painful so I had to move this up the list.

I'll echo what someone else said, just a little cleaning didn't seem like it would have worked so well, but it did!

Then I dove up to the trail-head near town to go for a little hike now that the weather's dried out a bit.

It was a little hazy, but still a great view looking across the central valley at the snow-capped Sierras. Left of center is the Yosemite area, to the right is the Kings Canyon area. That's 175 mi. from my spot here in the east bay!

How long have you been running that battery? Just curious. I put the same one in my 80 couple years ago. Seems to have held up well... at least bang for buck.

We've got these lovely bouncing things called skippy, if you hit one on the up bounce, it's going to try it's hardest to come over your bonnet and into your windscreen. A bar like the ones you guys run will just give it the boost it needs if it didn't quite have enough on it's own lol. With full hoops, they tend to get knocked down rather than flicked up ;)

Yeah, exactly. We just don't have the same issues. Sometimes a deer or moose will surprise you. The ARB's will help with a deer. The only thing to help with a moose is a Kenworth. All the rest are pretty easy to dodge, so the low profile bumpers work for a lot of people here. Mostly my ARB is intended to deal with my teenagers.

It's surprising that you don't have more wildlife trying to kill you on the roads.

not for lack of trying I bet. I'm sure body shop owners are spreading Deer Viagra around everywhere like there's no tomorrow... :D

Over the past 10 years I've hit quite a few animals... just depends on what is in the area. We also have fences along most roadways.

1 deer
6+ coyotes
More rabbits and squirrels than I have for fingers and toes :hillbilly:
2 owls

My ARB has also claimed a Sentra and a Prius.

I'm really impressed. This was the first battery I turned to after Sears put the kaibash on the DieHard Platinum. I had one in my 62, which would sit in the cold for weeks or months and always fire right up. I use the turboclunker a little more frequently than the 62, but still sits more than it gets used. I've had my current one for 2 years, the one on the 62 was purchased by PO but was in service for a while--can't say exactly how long. When I did my turbo build, the truck sat for almost a couple months and I never disconnected the battery. Fired up like I had just driven it. If your receipt shows a purchase less than 3 years ago, they will replace it free no questions asked.

I think it would be a good idea to contact Zuk and send him your diff. He's really awesome to work with.
