Almost doubled the lumen output of my hatch lighting. This is very bright thankfully is all dimmable.

Light output is whiter (3100K) than pictured

Increased night visiability with red and bright enough to read by, again also dimmable. Seems to also keep the bugs to a minumin. Makes it very easy to find your 80 in a group at night.

The gaggle of geese could not be persuaded. Tickling with 35" Toyos had no effect. :meh:

Do you have a link to them? There's SO MANY options for this style light, I don't want to pay Rigid price, but I don't want something that's going to disappoint either.
I just got them from sunyee on eBay. Figured if they got damaged it wasn't the end of the world. And the light output is surprisingly good for the price

Ended up doing Big Levels/Bald Mountain again...View attachment 1342911
My friends jeep got super stuck in a mud hole, so the land cruiser had to pull it out... typical;)
Also i had a bit of a scare after going through some shallow water. I stalled and didn't start up again until 3 or so hard starts. Not sure what that could mean but maybe a snorkel is a near by investment...
One of my favorite spots to go. I'm only an hour or so out from there. Kind of surprised I haven't seen you driving around...is your 80 a daily?

Is that your Red Light District?

Go to pay for it someway
What dimmer are you using? Looks great!

Low cost but it fits. I started with electronic because of it small size but it needed to be reset every time you shut the hatch:(
I have more in black PM me

@Bludozer Im a student in Lynchburg so I'm not driving around a whole lot. Great trail! I'd be interested in finding some others in the area. Ive heard of shoe creek which is closed apparently?

@LandCruiserPhil I don't remember my truck having lights in the hatch like that. Whats your setup ?

Pictured below
LED red strip
LED white strip
Dimmer
Lighting/control switch (hard to see under finger latch) red LED - All off - white LED
Used existing hatch switch for hatch LED lighting only
Rewired for constant power to hatch

Good stuff! I've been looking to do something similar with the LED strips.

I worked at a race shop that built Trophy trucks for a year while I was still studying engineering in college... The one thing I can remember from those years is that you can never use too much Loc-Tite... (well, I guess you could...). ;) In 2 weeks me and my new wife will be roadtripping to Los Cabos, all solo and mostly will be offroad. So I just went through all the applicable nuts and went to town!

Oh I also installed a Interstate Megatron Plus with 6 year warranty....

Ah gotcha yeah I'm the other direction in Charlottesville.

Shoe creek is closed which is incredibly unfortunate because it was a great trail. There are quite a few others in Va though especially in the Harrisonburg area. Did flag pole last weekend, trail isnt too difficult but it has incredible views at the top and lots of spots to camp on the way up.

Too bad Locktite can't fix all the loose screws in Congress. I look forward to the pictures from your trip.

I just spent a week in Cabo San Lucas and was talking to my wife about road tripping down there but she is scared and thinks it's dangerous. Every mud member that goes down to Baha said they or aanyone they know has ever had an issue down there at least not life threatening.
It would be great if you could post up some pics of your trip and maybe a brief report.

Thats too bad about shoe creek. Im definitely going to have to do flagpole at some point. Levels does go up pretty high but never really comes out to any really good views so I'm definitely interested.

Yeah, well she's got a point!

It's funny, but I never actually tell people to go to Baja. I don't fully agree with sending people there with the sensationalism I read on blogs and travel articles, making it sound like it is a safe place without anything to worry about. People down there in general are the nicest in the world, but there are a lot of very poor and desperate people who have really nothing to lose. It is all relative, but, I've had things happen to myself, my family and friends. It is the wild west, but that is what makes people keep going back I guess. My dad, who grew up going to Baja with his dad several times a year stopped going 10 years ago and won't go back. I know a lot of people who swore never to set foot again in MX actually. However, I'm still enjoying myself and do a tip trip once every other year, and have been since I was 18.

A nice collection of current events in Baja can be found here... :)

I feel like I am reading posts daily on how someone drove down for their first time and it was totally fine, and there's nothing to worry about. It cracks me up.

Ok so maybe it would be good to go in a group with experienced Baha travelers and heavily armed. Be safe and good luck.

Final on (not needed) lighting upgrade.
I had some left over LED strip from the hatch lighting upgrade so I added to the awning. I have had Awning LED Lighting since day one and rarely used it on high but I had the extra.

The current setup I can only run 1 strip at a time. I did not remove the old so I have options:rolleyes:

The old set up on full bright.

Full bright it too bright. Pictured is with no moon, under carport, and 40' away at full bright. When off you cant see the wall or garage doors.
