What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

Only $40?? In Australia you’d get fined $400 for that. 2mph faster and you’d automatically lose your licence for 3 months.
It is indeed the cheapest ticket I've seen. It would have also been a lot more expensive here in TN.
@RevISK
I figure if any one of the millions of cameras I pass can find my address that easily, it probably doesn't matter if some rando on the internet sees the address...
I do appreciate the concern. What heinous things could someone do with the information?

That’s the spirit.

Holy sheeeeeet!! 😬😬
Yeah, cray. That was the only shipping option too.
I imagined maybe $300 in shipping but over $2,000!? I guess they have some good drugs down under…

"Must be a mistake. Everyone knows Land Cruisers can't do the speed limit."

I actually said something like that straight to a cop's face when I was pulled over in my '84 pickup. He got a good chuckle out of it :D Shockingly, the road was actually slightly uphill.

you don't have to pay those tickets, right?
the gov't can't prove who was driving
Sort of. It is considered a civil violation, not a criminal offense. It won't go on your license, but you can get your car booted if you park on the street, at least here in New Orleans. It's a racket and should not be legal. We've just learned you can "lose" your license plate and get a new one if you got a ticket. That's the only way they can track your vehicle.

took my daughter on her 13 birthday trip. i’ve done it for each of my older kids she wanted to climb a mountain.

oddly enough i drove 700 km to get to the mountains and ive driven about 2000km since i put my summer tires on. well on the last stretch of the trip i developed a sudden severe vibration. quickly pulled over to find all 6 rear wheel lug nuts loose and almost about to come off!! 🤯. thankfully it didn’t or it would have been messy being in tight traffic at 110km/hr. so tightened them back up and finished the trip with no issues (but multiple retorques). awesome time with her though and good memories made!!

What kinda watch are you rocking? I'm a watch guy myself.

It's a shinola runwell and i've been very pleased with it!
I was going to ask the same but I figure to scroll first knowing someone will ask the same question. I thought it could be a Luminox, cool watch.

had a similar experience with all 6 lug nuts coming loose on one tire - also during a trip.

I had just gotten new wheels so I had a shop swap the tires over and reinstall everything on my truck. When I got home I checked torque: between 140 and 180ft-lbs! I loosened and retightened them all to 95ft-lbs. About a week later we left on a trip and the wheel came loose two days after that after a long highway drive.

As best as I can figure, the over-torque to 140-180 slightly widened the bevel where the lug nuts seat, and now 95ft-lb wasn’t enough to let the lug nuts have good contact. I’ve since found 105-110 is enough to hold. Might not be your problem, but I’m throwing it out there just in case that might have happened to you.

In the thick of... rear main seal, clutch w/ resurfaced flywheel, trans inspection/reseal, T/C rebuild and removing what feels like 100lbs of caked on oily dust/dirt.

Have to give a shout out to Georg/ @orangefj45 ~ spent a good 30 minutes talking with me on the phone about this project, and when a mistake happened in which parts I received he made it right, immediately (I'm assuming, it's in the mail but I have no reason to doubt).

Question: the clutch I pulled out seemed new-ish except for the buggered up bolt heads. I checked the thickness of the friction material per the manual just to see how warn it was and noticed that there was a 1.5mm deviation across the disk. On both sides I saw 1.5mm on the "left" side and 3.1mm on the "right" side (use top and bottom, North and South, just across from each other on the same side). Searching only turns up info on wear on the flywheel side (whole) and no wear on the pressure plate side which isn't what I'm seeing. Best guess is that the pressure plate was pushing one side more than the other? Just trying to figure out if this is something I need to address or if it's something to do with the old clutch and/or the installation of that clutch.

Georg is indeed the man. Puts up with my BS all the time. Today even.

I don't think motor mounts should look like this😂 so did both motor mounts today. Also took the headlight washer tank out and it actually fits where the windshield one goes. The windshield was just falling apart and the pump didn't work anymore. So we have a little something to spray on the windshield. The blower never ran under the hood but it's still good but trying to clean things up. Mounting up new tires and wheels tomorrow.

Scored this set of wheels of a friend of mine. New set of 31's. Was gonna take it for an alignment but the relay rod is loose. Time to order more parts🫠
*edit, gonna have to get some spacers, fronts are hitting the tie rods🙄 while waiting, adding cb antenna to it and doing other small things. Dog tax included.
