Drove mine about 1000 miles today. Bedded down in back of it now

Finally got the RF all the way done. Got the new brake hoses on this side as well. Also got the smog delete pulley today and got it in. Seems the belt alignment is off a scosh, don't know how, it was in the smog pump as well. Starting on the left front tomorrow and change the gear oil and maybe I can finally enjoy the ole girl.
The goal is to take it to cars and coffee this weekend. I keep telling my old lady if I don't get it done, we're gonna lose the shop like that one show says all the time. 😂

First test drive after all the work was a success. Probably need to bleed the brakes again, my brother is not a car person and I think got some air in the lines. Anyway, after sitting for mostly six years we tackled-
Oil change
Oil pan gasket
Valve lash
Power steering flush
Clutch master and slave
Smog pump delete pulley
Birf seal change
Front pads rotors and calipers
Brake fluid flush
Rear end fluid
Transfer case fluid
Transmission fluid
Front dif fluid
Greased driveline and suspension
Interior panels reattached
Radio wiring fixed
New battery
Fabbed a little battery hold down

Still have a new carb for it but trying to get the little bit more old fuel out of it.
Might be some other small stuff. But steering wheel is pretty far off but it's at least not pulling anymore. Always good to bring one back to life.

View attachment 4158097New Red Head steering gear. I’m just 20min away from their Postfalls, ID facility so stopped by to pick one up. Cool detail they add is a plate that captures the adjustment locknut, preventing it from ever turning. The tech who helped me, their customer service is great btw, said they add that because they have a tendency to loosen once they’re been broken loose for the first time from the factory. That was new information to me. Anyway, super pleased with the quality and detail in this unit (this is not sponsored by Red Head) ! It’s replacing an original that had 262k miles on it, so nice to be back to spec.
I can attest to that nut loosening. Happened to me a few times on my recent 2,250 mile trip after I rebuilt the box. Fun trying to figure out why my steering is progressively suckier as I careen down a mountain.

Good to know RevISK!
I thought the plate Redhead added was to keep me from mucking around with it. Glad they added that safety plate!

Muck around, just put it back when said mucking has commenced.

Pulled the injectors out, had one odd nozzle put in Mongolia (had no choice)...didn't do any harm, took us all the way home, but would like fully matching nozzles now 😂

Finally got my Solarscreens from Australia. Highly recommend these if you want to cut out the sun/heat during Summer months and provide a little privacy for your rig with everyday use or camping. Protects from UV. Suction cups make easy install and removal. They sent me a template to custom make a screen for my rear Emuwing. Took awhile going back and forth with international shipping but they were very helpful with communication the entire time. I have a set of rear cargo window screens that I didn’t use since I have gullwing windows I’ll post for sale if anyone is interested!
