I finally made it out to @CenTXFJ60 and the landcruiser hostel! Thanks to Jeff and Jimmy I got my engine codes cleared and spent a full day learning about my landcruiser and enjoying their company. Discovered that my cold start switch had been twisted to destruction at some point in the past., and replacing it has fixed my starting issues, and a fresh TPS has fixed the idle. Thanks again Jimmy and Jeff

Got the plumbing done on the 3fe turbo project finally, haven't had much time lately. I'm trying to make this look somewhat factory, keeping the factory air box and nice neat piping which I'll paint to match the valve cover. Maybe get a 3FE Turbo sticker made for the engine, already have a turbo badge for the rear. Maybe I can bull**** someone that it's the ultra rare 1988 FJ62 Turbo, only 100 ever made lol.

@FFMullins Does that tan one have an 80s rear axel? That tire poke is spot on!

Drove it to work. A better choice in the blizzard we were getting than my little mazda3. I’m never thrilled to get her on the salty pavement but I do want to enjoy her and be safe, so that’s how it goes. She’s gotten a couple good power washes since.

First good field trip of the year. Drove ca. 450 miles yesterday from AL to south LA. Spent today prowling a WMA (wildlife management area) visiting ponds and collecting water samples for eDNA analysis on the target species of the study. A few places had a little mud but not enough for 4WD.

Yes sir...that's actually an 80 with a 62 body on it. Even the interior from the front seats forward are 80. Possibly one of a kind and very well done by Monroy. @fl4031003 can elaborate. Pretty sure he has a build thread as well.
80 chassis and drivetrain!!!!!

Here’s some better photos I snapped of it at @CenTXFJ60 ’s barn awhile back. 80 chassis drivetrain and interior. Very sweet rig, @fl4031003 did an amazing job, looks factory. I believe he’s bringing it to SAS #6 this year.

looking good. $27 PQY regulator for the win
I would highly recommend opening it up and making sure it isn't full of metal shavings though, I've seen that on a few of them.

so, this is an 80s Axel + coil conversion? or no? How would you decribe the drivability difference? Getting this done in the Spring...well, getting an 80s Axel+Coil conversion not sure its same deal

It’s an 80 frame and axles under a 60. I believe yours is a 60 frame with coil conversion, similar deal though. Haven’t actually driven a 60 with the swap done to know. Maybe @fl4031003 can chime in. From driving both a stock 60 and 80 I can tell you the 80 generally has better ride quality on road and through turbulent terrain, flex off road, and takes sharp corners a bit better.

ahhhhhhhhhhh I gotchya. I get the difference...now, TY!! I'm looking forward to those improvements!!!

Your truck is the green one @TRAIL TAILOR is building right? Enjoy it. Pretty sweet rig, definitely start a build thread on it when you get the chance.
Nah...mines Freeborn red currently getting Body + Paint at Kellys...then to Js for all the rest.
