I got a quote on redoing my thrashed front bench seat, apparently 1970's Japanese upholstery is hard to match...but I have several broken springs etc too so it's beyond throwing a cover on it.

Will be picking up my re-cored rad Wed so that's one more thing done.

I found a great match! Check my build thread for model info. Think they came from a Ford Focus...

Got my new interior panels in! Test fit this weekend...anyone know where to sorce some plastic with that sticky tar to shield from moisture or any better options?

My pig came to me pretty well sorted out. However, like all of them, there were a few things that needed attention.

Finished up my knuckle job and front (disc) brake service today.

Also did new tie rod ends while i was in there.

In the last 4 weeks, with the help of @wngrog in particular, we also did:

1) replaced leaking rear main and oil pan seal;
2) replaced clutch while we had the tranny pulled for the rear main job.
3) new brake booster and MC.
4) new clutch master and slave.
5) new emergency brake with speedi sleeve.

As much as i enjoy wrenching, im ready to just drive and enjoy for awhile.

Repaired some stuck grease fittings, then lubed the chassis. Ran another cycle of distilled water through the cooling system in an effort to clean out the rust. Maybe one or two more cycles and we'll be ready for 50/50 coolant.

I just went through that on an old F motor. Had to carve out the block drain.

Flushed it with prestone and a lot of tap water.

Was a s*** job.

Loaded some stuff into the ol toolbox to go free a power line from a downed branch... when I got there, it turned out to be a tree growing sideways off an upright tree, and we made careful work of it with the old electric pole saw... no pics of the work tho...

Took her to Kent CT one night of camping then back to NJ and grabbed some mums at a farm..she did well new carb is in but not installed and I've got a decent whole body shimmy at 53mph on the speedo..prob won't takle it this year next year some more work!

I've run a treatment through it for 300 miles, and have flushed it 4 times. It's still a little brown but will have to do until next year. Time to move on on to bigger and better projects.
1. Replace Carb
2. Desmog.
3. Replace drivers door panel.
4. Rebuild and replace rear window drive.
5. Fix window washer and emergency flasher (inoperable)
6. ....I swear it's always something

Installed a Retro Sound Hermosa head unit and Sound Ordinance powered subwoofer under the seat. It doesn't thump like an amp and big subwoofer boxes would, but I wanted it to be discreet. Love the oversized gear style knobs made of solid metal, feels like it belongs in a cruiser. I debated getting this chrome trimmed bezel. I thought straight black might be better, but I actually kinda like it. Bluetooth in the old cruiser is pretty cool. I need to freshen up the old knobs on the dash now.

I also installed a new(to me) door latch assembly on the passenger door. It wasn't super easy with man hands inside the door trying to line everything up, but it went a heck of a lot smoother than when I did the same in the thin doors of my HJ45. Door works like a charm now.
