hey that ain't too bad...it didn't look much better when it got off the boat! just don't get your fingers caught in those teeth...not too many know, but they're the real reason these trucks are called iron pigs...nothing survives the steel jaws of the fj55 rear tailgate regulator!

Oh Man, that glass track is shot. Be a good time to repack the motor gears with fresh grease, too. A good project. Unsolicited tip...Scribe or mark across both half moon gears and the center support, so when you take the motor off and the gears move, you'll have a base line to shoot for. If you don't get the gears aligned right, the glass goes up cocked and binds. Fun work and good luck with it.

You've already discovered the most important tool...the rear window article by Gary S. Invaluable.

I got a quote on redoing my thrashed front bench seat, apparently 1970's Japanese upholstery is hard to match...but I have several broken springs etc too so it's beyond throwing a cover on it.

Will be picking up my re-cored rad Wed so that's one more thing done.

I paid 400 once to redo a front bench. it was nice. looking back, I should have used school bus seat vinyl...that stuff is almost indestructable. I used to put those poor seats thru aich ee double hockey sticks. best part is just fill the gouges and holes with black silicone and pretend it never happened!
