I added two more degrees of caster shim to the front and now it doesn't read the road so much, the test drive went great too. Also the steering box is much better now.... I fixed the inconsistent turn rate by sanding down that rough spot in the case.... so now the piston can move freely. That o-ring was probably fine, it was still sealing the cap that the sector shaft rides in, but better safe than sorry. Now to get to the things I still have been wanting to get done:

Hook up dual battery kit (just been setting on the shelf)
Add noise proofing to trans hump (under Carpet)
Hook up Winch (longer power cable on order)
Cruise Control. (just ordered some pieces).
So how many degrees of caster shims do you have up there now?

Did your truck have cruise control or all new parts? Please keep us posted with details.
Ty!

I have 5.5 Degrees total.... which is giving me 1.5 degrees positive, it was dead on at zero degrees when I measured it. Kurt sells them in 2, 4, and 6. so I may buy the 6 degree shims just so. I am not stacking 2 shims (which I have done, but its not recommended).

It did not, just used parts from various vehicles.

I have a set of brand new 6* steel shims from Valley Hybrids I’m not going to use that I’d sell for a reasonable price. In fact I have them listed for sale.

Kevin, don’t let me forget, I want to get you set up with slightly smaller bore clutch MC we’ve been testing. Should decrease pedal effort a bit from the 13/16”

@huminajumina I installed one of Matt's kits about a month ago and the difference has been incredible. Well worth the upgrade honestly and it was a really easy install.

He already has my kit, he just has the larger bore size we were using previously.

What’s the size on the smaller one? I’ll have to give you a call, it could definitely use a little more help!

Stepping down from 13/16” to 3/4”. Still larger then the stock MC, but with easier pedal feel.

I have been working on the cruiser and driving it, but I haven't posted in a bit. I got my 6° shims from @RevISK a while back and put them in the next day. I pulled my 4° shims out and put them in my buddy's HJ60. It didn't take much time at all, and both of us have much better steering now. I can relax while driving and the wheels aren't chasing every groove or rut in the road, its kinda nice....

The PS Pump died after whining and putting up with some abuse... I put a remaned pump on recently so I just swapped it out at the local parts store free of charge.....I feel like I typed all this up before, but must have not actually posted  I'm going to need to replace the steering box, the casing has that rough spot I have tried to polish out a few times and it is also sucking in air from somewhere and the new seal kit didn't fix it. Its causing the whine and its causing an inconsistency in steering only with right turns, but its not great at higher speeds.

I swapped out my water pump on the LS for the Trailblazer one so the neck doesn't hit my intake tube, that was a bigger job than I wanted but it was a good time to get it done since I took the alternator, mounting bracket, and PS Pump all off to get the PS pump swapped out. The new water pump should allow a LS1 or LS6 intake if I should ever decide to do that and get back some hood clearance. It mostly is to allow the intake tube to set down lower and allow the hood to close.

After I replaced the original PS Pump I didn't get the pulley back in the exact position, probably only off by 1/16" but it made the belt start chirping, that was annoying because I had also gained the PS pump whine due to the box letting air in the system. So this time around, I got it right and that fixed the belt chirp.

I have driven the cruiser for a bit now with the box still leaking air and having a rough spot in it.....I am hoping the pump survives (its much quieter than the first go around)...but its a local parts store pump so it has a 'lifetime' warranty.... my plan is to track down another box first.....

Other than that I have just been taking the dog for rides to his favorite walking places and stopping at a local brewery on the way home.

Happy to have helped.

Well, its just cold, windy Febuary here.... Haven't been driving the FJ62 since the roads are covered in about 1/4" of salt :bang: ... I was hoping to tear into the Transfer case and put the sumo overdrivegears in, but its just been a day at a time around here with the new addiditon to the family!!!!

Here's probably the last time I drove the 62, before all the salt started going on the roads....

Lately I have been fixing the snowblower, fixing up a few old bikes to sell in the spring, and just trying to rock this baby to sleep all day and hope he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night......

Heres part two of the fly fishing video from last summer:

Congrats on the new addition! Long days, short years. Nothing better than a toddler begging to take the lahn cusher.
Thank you!! Haha, yes, I am excited for the "Dad, can we take the Landcruiser?"

Ok guys, baby life has slowed down my posting and my Land Cruiser work.
