My buddy and I are in the middle of tag-teaming three 8274 rebuilds, the top one is the first one I finished and mounted on my 62. Mid 70's I think. the second one is late 70s. Interesting how a few of the parts changed into the 80s (which is the latest we have). For the brake linings, one of them had a handful of individual phenolic pucks instead of the rings. As mentioned a posts back, Autozone currently has the best prices for the Warn parts, which surprised me. Pretty simple to rebuild, just cleaning stuff up seems to take the most time.

this one is not NOS 😂

went after this one knowing the motor had a problem. i have another motor in my container and will inevitably buy a hot rod motor at some point. bones are good. unfortunately missing the lock plate inside if anyone has one. it did come with a remote as well. paid like 225$ and a couple hours in the car.
this ended up being a little bit of fůckery because allegedly there are no square nuts here
guys ended up just cutting the bumper off 😂
my other one en route is also a 1980, 152xxx January build.

I've seen what your finished 8274's look like so I know there's hope for that one. How difficult is it for any of us (or a business) to ship stuff to you? Does stuff "get lost" or will it make it to you?

ive been lucky enough to have never had anything lost in shipping. ever. 😂
i pay by the kilogram for stuff down here, so it can get expensive. it comes from an address i use in Miami.
there are slow boat options as well but it's months vs weeks time wise.

Dragging a dead VW GTI around today. I found this winch on an old full size Bronco that was for sale, the Bronco was for sale. I called the owner and asked if he would sell the winch separately, he said yes for $75. I was willing to go $100. Score. Got it for cheap, but not cheap. Ca. $800 later with rebuild, new contactor, motor, cover, hand control (went with the cheaper 3 pin), and cable. Great winch.
