Will check on a strap to do the job. Then might as well make one or more, don't think there will be a problem finding a home for them?
Nice work - I would take one of those for my Puma air compressor when I buy one....

Hey, it's a dirty:crybaby: job, but somebody's got to do it. Obviously, this is the abbreviated version of the original with the integrated spare mount. I usually have way too much junk in the truck to make room for silly things like spare tires.:hhmm: This was one of only two occasions I can remember that the back end was completely empty. :grinpimp: Kinda looks nekid without Wrenches and Spare, and Flares, Oh MY!!!.............

So,,, did ya paint it yet?:hillbilly:

Yup, sure did. Ya'd think it would dry really fast in this heat, but not so much. Even light, thin layers are taking a long time to dry. Should be done baking by now. I'm going out to tale a couple of pix and then mount it up. I had to do shocks on my son's Dodge before I could start painting. Boy, impact pistol sure makes easy work of that!!

...decided to add old anchor ...

Good deal, an old anchor is good, on your rig,, it is all about the ballast right?:hillbilly:

Looks good!

Considering that I sometimes still drive like I'm in the FJ 55, I figured I didn't want to chance bending that nifty bracket. S'pose I jus'got too much junk in my truck?

Inkpot's new can holder. He wanted flat floors, so dimple die speed holes. Figured that every ounce we saved in the design, would allow him to pack 17.359lbs more junk!:hillbilly:

He carries a big fire extinguisher, they can become a missile in an accident. The bracket that came with it is junk/wimpy, couldn't find anything that we liked, so made one.:hillbilly:

It is a hunk of plastic that clamps to the unit and a channel bracket on the rack. It sits on the bracket, push it in slightly and insert the pin, so pull the pin, pick it up slightly and it is off. Works slick and is solid.:hillbilly:

Great use of space Tools. You ever think of making the same set up but with containers mounted on top of the flat surface to hold the "assortment of stuff" type stuff?

I'd like something like that :hhmm: for my 80. I can imagine it is time consuming but have you considered making and selling this kind of thing?

Count me in if you decide to make a few to sell, that is a great looking set up.

These were optimized/sized for the cans, but will carry anything in the same size range, even, like, airline roll on luggage?:hillbilly: My guess; on most trips will have other things on them, only carry cans on remote type trips where needed.

Tentative maybe, it is being considered. We started two of the V.2 Puma mounts today, learned/found some stuff that makes them better in looks and strength, easier to build, etc. Looking to make a jig off of them, if that works out will make a jig for the right side.

At this point they will be custom, can be sized to fit whatever. My right side will be a two shelf unit, setup to hold tool bags. Want to get rid of the big plastic box that now holds tools, spares, recovery gear, etc.

So some "prototyping" will be happening, if anyone has ideas/needs, lets talk.

Great setup. Count me in for one.

That is exactly what Im needing as well: The large container that holds all the misc junk to get up off the floor and into shelving. Looks like there is some interest here Tools....keep us posted. Maybe start a new specific "Tools custom fab works" thread on the subject?

It may come down to finding the right size container and building the shelf or shelves to accomodate the right dimensions of said box. I guess basically the dimensional size of those water containers with the top 25% cut off and made of a stonger/thicker meaterial: Metal, stong plastic, or? Large ammo box would be cool but ...?

Anyone have any container ideas of what would work?
