Longshot here, any other photos from how you mounted your Tuffy? Builds - Unicorns are real... My dream car FJ73 build - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/unicorns-are-real-my-dream-car-fj73-build.1156874/page-19#post-13592315 I finally found a 6.5" one for a good price and need to build the floor mounts for it.
not a long shot at all. Glad to help, and I love Tuffy boxes, have them in several rigs.

So the front piece you see in those pics is a 3/16 plate that I bent with an angle that is flat, and then it bolts in the two existing holes on that hump. The Tuffy box just bolts down through this plate. As for the rear, I made another bracket. see pics.

Something arrived today….

I am too nervous to open it up... might just put it under the tree...

9 months ago funds were sent.

Well, after not touching this rig for a few months, I pulled it back into the shop to get some things wrapped up and hopefully start driving it.

First up was to deal with the death wobble that I encountered last outing -- after I put the shims in.

1. checked all the U bolts and suspension bolts, some of the U bolts needed tightening.

2. checked wheel bearing, driver side was a quarter turn loose, so got that buttoned up.

3. all tie rods appeared tight and did not feel much play in the pitman arm

next up is to pop off the tie rods and check for knuckle tension, check toe in and check caster again. Pretty sure I was at about 5 degrees negative caster.

Well, looky there, another 6.0 in a 70 series....

Looking it over, the one thing I need to track down is a Gas Tachometer. Any ideas?

Yeah. An overlay is probably the easiest way to get the tach you want on a custom engine set up.

That one's a diesel tachometer; it has the "Turbo" script at the bottom with the boost and overboost lights. The gas version has a higher redline and doesn't say turbo on it:
trying to find a part number for that Tach. looks like the picture says it is from a fzj75lv 93. I don't show that model had a tach originally; however, other variations that year had part number 83242-60640. Looks to be still available, but i can't find a picture of the face to confirm it is the right one. Anyone have thoughts?

This is a 1993 FZJ75 Troopy from VZ. This should be a 83242-60620 (W/O difflock). A 60640 is with difflock.

From Canadian cluster. Probably won’t work either so rule those out.

Add the heat shield…

And time to admit that when I put the shims in for the front axle I put them in the same orientation as my Fj40. Ends up to I put them in backwards. Time for me to check my Fj40 caster!! Got 3° negative now.

Also got all the dash the time together, in the glove box actually fit with all of the new wiring and computers behind there! Also found two manuals that I was going to leave in the car until I realized they’re not In English. The blue one is a map of all Toyota dealers in Europe

Step one, catch the back of @2fpower split case as it "split" with enthusiasm and persuasion from @kc_chevota. NEVER in my life have I ever seen a split case pop open.
