I hate to crash this fine party of great intentions by all our fine lads on Mud...

but...

There is a WAY easier way to find parts availability [Edit: "in the USA"] than scrolling through this awesome thread.
Just go HERE and enter your part number in the search box. If a part is discontinued, you will see it. They have always been accurate for parts availability for me... although it is doubtful that their database would be 100% up-to-date perfect.

That site might be a good place to start an investigation.

None of these sites will actually give you real information. They give you canned information.

Here is an example:

http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/toyota~weatherstrip~rear~door~rh~67871-90A00.html

Shows as available when in fact it is discontinued.

The other side of this coin is the following: a part shows discontinued but there is actually extant stock out there available for sale.

One other aspect that the site does not show you: whether dealers have available stock of said discontinued parts (folks like CDan and I have a number of disco parts in our inventory available for sale).

So, in fact, a thread like this is useful. :meh:

That is good info… beno. I too have found a couple errors on that site after entering in some of your part numbers found on this thread. It was doubtful (as mentioned previously) that their database could be 100% accurate.

As you mentioned, sites like those are a good place to start since they are fast and easy without having to wait for multi-day email correspondence to see if a part is available.… But it looks like Nalley Toyota Stonecrest seems like an even better place to end up!

The most aggregious insult to all our fellow Land Cruiser enthusiasts is the unconscionable labeling of a part as NLA when it actually not NLA. That can not be forgiven! How many people are going to send an email query for part availability if the website says it is NLA. Probably no one.. That sucks.

I had been thinking about this thread for a few days after I had posted.. The fact that your dealership or others might have stock, as you had mentioned earlier in the thread, made me wonder.. as that stock would not show up in the USA Toyota inventory database.

Good info.

15601-68010: 2H/12H-T diesel oil filters are now categorized as "Non-Import Part" by Toyota for the North American market.

All remaining US stock at Toyota depots have been sold out.

That's a bummer :(

Sheesh ... I may have to buy an 80-series.

These are the USA Land Cruiser Replacements.
[EDIT] View them.... and weep. :(

Not gonna lie my dad has one and even though it isn't as heavy it is very nice and practical, drives like a sports car with the 6 speed

and is he willing to scratch it off road on some mild rocks?

mmmmm no

Another big one bites the dust:

Front Brake pads: 04465-YZZC0. Fits FJ60 and 62.

Also, fit FJ40/55 with front disc brakes.

CDan, Sam Stewart and I are trying to get our hands on whatever is left in the US.

:(

dont think this kind of cruisers will last as long than a 60 :bang:

I wouldn't be worried about brake pads, there's plenty of equivalent aftermarket there.

Very cool finds today.

I've been procuring the last of the FJ40/55/60/62/7x front brake pads and scored these beautiful relics.

CDan has carbon dated them to 1994. These are actually the Japanese manufactured Sumitumo's and not the local USA manufactured YZZC0's.

Really cool find. I am taking a few for my own collection and use. The rest will be available for sale. Joe_E will buy a set, definitely. ;)

Selling these at the 1994 price? :grinpimp:

while at 1st glance the brake pads being killed off does not seem like a biggy........but its my feeling everything up stream of the pads is going to be killed off.........

so you take your 60 into the dealer for brakes..........what the hell does the dealer do? order them from Rock Auto? dealer can get OEM reman calipers.....but nothing to put in them.

the end is near.....

I wonder when Mr.T will do to the 60/62's what he did when all the parts were given to Marv?

Remember, all these old parts take warehouse space, must be inventoried and pay tax on, so I agree, time is short!

The end is near.....do you think the aftermarket will pick up the slack?

Bump:

13571-61010: Camshaft retainer.

This is the oval shaped piece that is held on by two bolts.

It is officially discontinued. I sold the last one on my shelf to a customer today.
