At the top of the mountain behind the lodges, there used to be some big mud holes and a couple of off camber rocks you had to traverse. It connects with Old Bucktown Road and Nimbelwill Gap Rd. That intersection is also where the Appalachian (approach) Trail begins and it was the site of a small aircraft crash (there's a marker sign). I've got a pretty good map of the roads up there. Old Bucktown used to be the shizzle, because it was never maintained by the state or county, but the neighborhood (I suspect a prominent gun club) has been grousing at the FS for years over the hooligan traffic on those "trails". The neighborhood wanted Old Bucktown simply closed, but the FS said they would just take the fun out of it. They finally graded it and graveled it along with many other FS roads in the area. The park rangers at Amicalola have had problems with ATV's and that's what the no 4-wheelers sign is about. The park rangers are fine with full size 4wd vehicles and even condone you coming in and out of the park via the road you saw (thus circumventing the park fees).

I remember the first time we went wheeling with Marshall and we were goin up the power line trail...Marshall experienced his vehicle flexing for the first time...the first little bump he heard this clink clink clink and he slams on the breaks and goes OH MY GOSH something's broke I know it...well JP and I (the experts) aka the wheeling mafia quickly discovered his drive shaft was rubbing the skid plate...which we were like just drive it you'll be fine...well that lead to a 30 minute break down so Marshall could fix the plate so it wouldn't rub anymore...weenie wheeler

I broke both motor mounts that day. I'm pretty sure I was the only one who was on two wheels going up that hill. Also remember JP, ALex and Richard breaking that day as well. Yet I managed to winch Richards broken piece of crap 55 up a mountain. Where was your cruiser? Oh that's right at home where it stayed for 5 years.

Right.... I certianly don't remember any broken motor mounts, I but sure do remember you throwing a hissy fit/ panic attack because your drive shaft was rubbing a little bit. Took us half an hour to convince you it was okay to drive it

Now if anyone here knows how to destory a cruiser either wheeling of just driving down a nice gravel road I am your guy:hillbilly:

Both motor mounts plus my fan and fan shroud. Not bad for only owning it for a month and already had rebuilt the t-case twice. I try not to trash my junk. It's all I got.

Has anyone ever seen one of the Dodge Power Wagons with the Swivel Frame? Looks pretty badass from the video. Articulate much? (May want to start at ~30 seconds in)

Another example. This is just bad ass. Would LOVE to see a FJ45 with this type of frame...

Wow never seen that before.

I'm stuffed. The wife and I just had dinner at Bobs Small Town Grill. If ya don't know Bob is a UC'r. His place is in Royston GA and if ya havent you should check it out.

Well as my controlling office is changing from Raleigh to Atlanta in a couple of months I hope to be able to stop by Bob's place much more often, it's just a long haul from Sumter or I would go there very very often. The food and Bob are a hard combination to pass upon. I expect in the very near future to be in the north Ga area a lot. :)

Anyone have any expeience with dvd's that are the dvd-9 format? I bought the kids and i a dvd box set of the original transformers cartoon series and the dang things quit playing on my dvd player. The 1st cd played fine but now when i put one in it speeds up like it is going to take off and then nothing. It is my understanding that they are dual layered dvd's and should play on any dvd player. Wondering if mine are too old. Neither player in the bedroom or den will play them.
