How old is your DVD player? I know that several of the newer DVDs will not play on our older unit that I bought back in '98.

2 or 3 years old but cheap units.

Big thanks goes out to Todd for bringing a truck down and helping me move my shop today. I'm still only half way there but he really really went above the call of duty. Got to love cruiser heads. If anyone needs to move you need to call him.

We had some extremely difficult items. This rack weighs over 600lbs. We had to use the cruiser to winch in down.

Thanks again Todd.

Sorry I didn't get to hang around Marshall. I might be able to lend a hand a bit next Thursday .

No problem.

Kudos Todd.
And howdy.
Still wheeling?

So after an eventful morning where I tried to burn my pasture and riding mower down in one fail swoop (I'm thankful for wet grass), the wife has ordered that we buy a new mower. We are pricing Z turns. Looked at Lowes online and are looking at Land Pride Z turns at a local tractor store tomorrow.

Does anyone have any experience with Land Prides?

Just make sure you get a welded deck, not a stamped one. usually 7 ga. or 1/4 in thick.
I don't think Lowes has any, Home Depot has one, a cub cadet.
I would look at Small engine shops instead of big box stores. Make sure they carry the maintence items, and will work on them.
DOHC should chime in on this one, he works at a small engine shop.

K. I asked awhile ago and he gave some good info but I can't find the posts.

I saw a guy rocking one of these this weekend. He had to run to get the momentum of the spinning blade going. Fortunately it was a small yard, but it looked like he had let the grass get too tall. It was kinda awkward when he noticed he had an audience - he just looked ridiculous running back and forth in 20 foot swaths.

So I got a new job and I'm moving to Knoxville. I've posted on the STLCA forum but do any of you know anything about the area?

And, um, anybody want to buy a nice 62?

Grats on the job. Post up the 62. I need to start thinking of a first car for my 10 year old for when he is 16 :)

Wow. Josh. Good luck with the move. Still with the BSA?

Still with the scouts. I'll be supervising three national scout shops and 7 local councils: Louisville and Lexington, KY, Nashville, Knoxville, Johnson City and Chattanooga, and Asheville, NC. Lots of driving...hence the 62 going away.

It'll be a good one. It's been my DD since Sept. 2008 when I bought it from Alex. It'll get a wash, vac. and oil change and post it up soon. And, you'd have plenty of time to "borrow" it between now and then. I'm sure the GX is more comfortable though.:hillbilly:

Yeah Steve don't buy one from lowes, you'll probably pay too much, how many acres do you have, isn't it like 5?? I would look into getting a tractor with a bush hog, may be a little more up front but if you plan on staying there you'll find uses for that tractor...my father in law rebuilds them on the side but always seems to find good deals trading, if you know what ya want I can have him look and see what he finds

I may be interested, post up some pictures and details when you get a chance...

Congrats, Knoxville is a nice town. My brother went to school there and I spent a good bit of time visiting, though that was years ago...

Knoxville = CC access = 62 may need to be a trail rig. Just sayin

The lot is 5 acres. About 3 in lawn and 1 in pasture I guess. I'm adding some beds so the 3 acres in lawn will probably go down to about 2.5. Some areas require a bunch of turns and the current mower can't turn sharp enough.

I'd love a tractor but can't swing the cost. My neighbor bush hogs my pasture for a song so I'm covered there for a while hopefully.

Does your FIL rebuild tractors or Z turns?

Alison and I are going to be at this house for a long time, or at least that is the plan. We will definitely price shop. Lowes has a few models around $3k that have good reviews. I hope to look at a few nicer models and I'll peak at tractors at a tractor store later today.

My cousin and uncle live in K town, it is pretty ok. Nicer than Greenville. Lots of stuff to do, just don't plan on doing it on saturdays in the fall. West K is nicest place to live.
