What's up with this adapter harness to your alternator. It looks like two of the wires are crossed. Not sure if that alternator you are using requires that but just an observation.

Good question. It came with the Alternator so I didn't question it (I'll grab some more pictures this afternoon and see if I can trace the wires continuity.

Based on other threads the top horizontal spade should be E, the right vertical spade should be N and the left vertical spade should be F.

That does look really really strange though. I'm going to go straight to that when I get home

Got home late so couldn't do much. Confirmed that the pigtail that came with the last alternator had the same wire crossover. That was an ac Delco this is a Remy. That said, you have to have an adaptor to get it to fit. Looking at the back of this alternator the blades are where they should be. I guess the answer is to try and rewire the pigtail?

These last two alternators have been rock auto specials, is anyone else running a similar setup with this connector switching the N and E connections?

There are a few points in a build when I step back and just look and smile. This point is my favorite. A truck starts from the frame up and continues on until it rolls away with it's owner (not a favorite time of the build). Something about the rawness of it. The pinnacle of this point is just before the wheels and tires go on. Everything is black and silver/raw steel. Add the big, beautiful aluminum V8 with black accents and it is a monochromatic rolling piece of mechanical art with 430 HP. Arghhh Arghhh Arghh!

This particular truck is a 60 body/80 roller/LS3 4L65E Connect and Cruise package

@NCFJ One day Stan, one day I will stop by and look at what you have done. Then I will say “Good Job”, write the final check, and drive Comet Brown out of your garage. Don’t retire for at least seventeen more years………

LOL thank you very much. That would make me 78. I don't plan on retiring though. It's been my experience from those around me, you sit down and you grow ill and die. At 78 I plan on sitting on a stool in the shop and hitting anyone dumb enough to come close with my cane :)

Wait, no smile on either one of you. Just wrong my brothers.

No smiling allowed while wrenching at my house. I watched GUNG HO too many times as a kid. After 6 hours of wrenching you will receive your ration of gruel, a glass of well water and a “fun size” candy bar of your choice then its back to the task at hand.

Man I love those early 80s trucks.... I just need to saw myself in half and I can fit in one

@WhiteTiger911 it was nice to meet you at Potts Mountain a few weekends back. At least I think that was you.

Rear diff fluid, transfer case fluid, front diff fluid, oil change. Had all the correct washers, no deformed plug protectors, no burns, no scratches. No massive oil splatter that always seems to happen, no seized plugs. I just wanted to share that everything went exactly the way i planned. Kinda like a unicorn, i never expect to see it again

So your in on the let’s not invite those guys list ?!? I see ;)
They didn’t know who I was. I think that’s how I made the cut. See you soon on a trail?
