I was looking for the AC Condenser you used, not the compressor. The part that mounts in front of the radiator - looks like a small radiator... I have an AC setup but missing the condenser. The one you installed looks like a good fit. Do you have part number/brand for that?

whooops sorry yeah i know what a condensor is i misread your previous post. you know it didnt have a label on it i dont believe but i will double check when i get back over there tonight. Tucker ordered the kit from cool cruisers though i do know that.

a couple of better shots of the new lower dash pads. Note the instrument cluster in it i simply installed for startup while the new one is being restored.

used an existing hole to mount the check engine light for the fuel injection

visors were in excellant shape so they just got new hardware

replated washer bracket and new jug

replated coolant reservoir bracket and new lid/overflow hose

limiters installed

finished up the doors last night. installed foam tape to eliminate any potential rattles behind the handle rods. installed this moisture/wind barrier plastic. doors got new toyota run channels and lower channels as well as new felts. new door panel covers and pull handles also from toyota

This pretty much puts it back up to date on the photos of everything other than the engine bay finished up. I cleaned up a factory 40 series air cleaner and we had it powder coated. couple of other nice touches that i will come back to with photos. Now a couple of weeks ago we actually fired it up and took it for a spin around the neighborhood. upon startup i noticed the aftermarket exhaust header doesnt seal off very well at the cylinder head causing an exhaust leak. I know this is a common problem so to ward off fighting ongoing exhaust leaks we removed it and are at this time refurbing a factory 2f exhaust manifold.

rebuilt an original 2f manifold with new springs, exhaust rings (on horns) and all new gaskets. sand blasted had some broken bolts i had to extract with the welder and retapped all the holes. removed the heat flapper and installed a stainless heat deflector. jimC egr tub block off. once i bolted it to the intake manifold i had it milled for a flat mating surface to the head.

shot of the map bracket i made

installed on the engine

powder coated intake horn 4 plus tbi adapter

tray for the computer bracket got from downey wouldnt fit in the glove box i ended up trimming down 2'' and powdercoating. put some foam tape on for computer to sit on and will add a velcro strap to go over the top.

fuel pump block off

repositioned the radiator upport bracket for the new configuration with the a/c

powder coated battery bracket, new toyota battery tray and tie down

off to the muffler shop for a flowmaster 40 series muffler and 2 1/4'' exhaust

reworked the down pipe so it would run above the skid plate. powder coated skid plate installed

Tucker restored the cluster. powder coated bezel, kit from gaugemarks and all new led bulbs

not sure how that last picture got in there.
Exhaust leak is fixed. Also replaced the p/s gearbox last night with one that wasnt leaking. cruiserparts.net was very quick to send a replacement. all the gauges are finally working with addition of the rebuilt instrument cluster. runs (somewhat) steers and brakes. check engine light illuminates after a short period of time with what i read as a code 4. maybe 44. need to do some homework it seems to be running a bit rich on start up and needs help idling until it reaches operating temp. also seems to be lacking power. it tries to die as soon as you put a load on it. im suspecting a map sensor issue or fuel trim issue but havent dug into it yet. May start off with check for proper fuel pressure just need to round up a gauge and tee it in somewhere.

Any more details on the exhaust? I am looking to replace the cherry bomb from my PO.

nice

except for the Flowmaster - I hated it for all the years I had it

Quick question on your plated hardware: was it zinc or cad plated or did you get both done on different parts? It seems like some stuff would look better in the shinier gold, while other stuff would look better in the matte yellow. Or maybe it's just the lighting in the pictures? Either way, that is a beautiful rig. Outstanding work.

the hardware is all cad plated the texture of the metal cast, pitted or smooth inlfuenced how shiny everything came out. The fuel injection is a kit from affordable fuel injection although i cant say it was much of a kit. Would have been just as easy to put one together yourself. Seems like its been one thing after another with this (kit).

You mentioned new springs was that for the heat shield flapper? What did you use and where did you get it? Did you make a flapper shaft out of stainless?
