Build Tilda Bogue Service Station - Plain Vanilla 100

I've had a ton of people ask me about the cost of all this.

Here are my costs. I think Meshal gave me a pretty good deal on the initial purchase price.

Shipping is what it is. The $7000 in new s*** in country was what I wanted since I plan on keeping this one.

I'm about done with the build so here are the numbers.

Thanks for sharing the behind scenes realistic to door costs. It is interesting information and probably saves the people selling and importing them from tire kicker questions that eat up time and don’t result in a sale. I’m guilty of that myself a few times in past and try to value peoples time by not asking until I am pretty sure I know I’m ready to buy.

Don't forget if you're hiring Nolen to do the work there is post arrival labor added to the above. Very fair labor, but it does add cost.

I should probably put my total on the 80 thread, but I'm not sure I want to see it written out...

please don’t
Hah. You and Nolen basically built me an OEM new and appropriately modernized (seats and stereo) 80 series. It wasn't cheap but it was a good value.

Yeah these things are not cheap. That said, price out any sub-75,000 mile US model Land Cruiser and you see how expensive they can be.

It's the add ons once back here for me that add up quick. I like the "goodies"

Same for me - the Old Man 100 VXR was a bit more given trim level and lower KMs, including work done in Saudia.
I could not be happier with the acquisition - could not have done it without @wngrog support.
A 25 year old 100 Series may not be for everyone but these rigs are fundamentally different than a US spec 100, even with comparable mileage. Before you judge the value, drive a coil pack 1FZ or 2UZ with a five speed manual. Happy to demo mine if someone wants - located in Boise.
The worst thing I can say is that mine did not come with cup holders. DIY / Amazon solution- 5 minutes and $17. 😎

Ward, the cup holders are in the top shelf of the fridge. Show us a picture of what Mr T provided.
Thanks. Yessir, I saw them at the Bogue and considered them to be inadequate for need. My navigator/bombardier agreed and required a deeper and more accessible solution - the “Dixie Cup” OEM lid insert wasn’t deemed up to the need. We both like that console lid as armrest and the cup location very inconvenient.
The slip-in aftermarket option interfered with passenger seat belt and was prone to slipping around.

Aight. All the parts arrived. About $1000 worth with shipping and $205 in tarrifs.

This is the second one of these I've done. The 70 was a bit easier because you could do some work from the underside easier than with the IFS.

It's a s*** job no matter how you cut it. Took me 2 hours

I pulled the old gear because I forgot to order a Woodruff key for the new pump and gear

I watched a YouTube (rare do I do this) last time.

The dude used hand tools and then he recommended seating the new gear by hitting it 200 times. That's right. 200 times.

Well I rammed mine in with an impact.

Why a new gear? Well they are easily damaged upon removal and will cause an annoying tick if slightly bent. I'm not taking that chance for $100

Have a s*** load of extensions on hand

Here are the part numbers minus the double washer thing that I already accidentally bought a bag of last time

I can't get the system from reproducing more air.

I've got a guy that actually knows something about rack and pinions coming by tomorrow to help me figure out what's happening

In the mean time, these 200 series OneStone armrests work perfectly on a 100 (80 too)

My buddy rode up and told me to stop being a spaz and just drive it to work the air out of it.

Turns out he was correct.

He said the rack is harder to bleed than what I'm used to.

We took it for some BBQ at lunch today and all is good now.
