Instagram shamed me into checking my fluids after the big crossing. 40 years of driving Toyotas told me I was fine but it's worth not being stubborn.

All clean. Air cleaner showed no sign of water nor, believe it or not the engine bay.

It's all about that bow wave.

Instagram is full of clowns. I think in a water crossing like that where you're moving through at a good speed you're going to be ok. I've had my 40 and 60 in water situations where I was stationary and had no water intrusion into diffs or tranny-tcase. I also have good vent lines run into the engine bay.

We did more stuff like this at Shawnee SSS and I had no water intrusion.

Do it in an 80 and the clowns will tell you that you'll risk having your headgasket blow.

5000 miles so far. Gave Plain Vanilla a 15w-40 Mobile 1 with Zinc drink. Used one of my last few classic filters.

Also installed some LED dome lights via Odd Iron

I have a bearing noise in my AC compressor. I was hoping it was the belt tensioner pulley and replaced that but it's the AC.

@OGBeno is going to advise me tomorrow. Toyota/Partsouq has it at $1200 which seems silly high since it's a Denso unit

Thanks for the update, but quit flashing the damn Sheelies - my back hurts enough without being reminded :bang:

To close the loop on the AC issue.

The compressor is different on this versus an 80 with a 1FZ. Probably because it has rear air? Maybe because it's IFS. It's larger and the mounting ears are different.

What I did not know is that when ordering a compressor from Toyota it does not come with the clutch and coil. Just a compressor.

So, on top of my $1200 compressor and my tarrif I had to buy a $450 Denso for a 1997 80
Series to rob all of that s*** from.

Fun times.

it's ready for the MS summer now.

I've been waiting for this little piece of jewelry to show up from @cruiseroutfit
IMG_5426.webp

These are special made for their part time kits. Custom inner gears and the extra collar.

My truck is part time but there was no way to stop the front from spinning.

They are not cheap but what the hell....

I got a set of 4353060130 or FHT001 to be installed in an FZJ100 and an FZJ79, but unfortunately, they did not fit into the scrows,

What do you think sir @cruiseroutfit

Thanks all

It depends on the model/spec of the FZJ79, the HUBFHT001 will fit some, not others, just depends on the specs as the 7x can come with hubs, drive flanges or DMALH hubs. All something we sort out with our customers via their frame code, model code and trim specs. With the 7x there are clean (i.e. using all factory parts) ways to convert from drive flange to free-wheel hub or DMALH to free-wheel hub.

The IFS 100/470 with drive flanges from the factory, will not accept the HUBFHT001. We ( Cruiser Outfitters ) build a customized HUBFHT001IFS specifically for these models. They feature upgraded internals.

Are those hub to wheel hub gaskets we shipped? Those need to be replaced with the right shape so there isnt gasket material hanging there. My eyes... :D I'm gonna light fires if we shipped those with HUBFHT001IFS hubs. You need these:

No I was actually going to suggest they ship with gaskets since no one will have M10 sized ones. This is repurposed from a M8 size kit. Sorry. I trimmed them for finals.

Great suggestion, I'll add them to those kit.

Can't wait to see how it feels without everything spinning up front.

You won't notice it until you're in the air on the backside of a good RR jump.

Aight. Every time I looked at these ditch lights I felt the urge to turn my cap backwards.

I still wanted extra light and then this cool bracket popped into my timeline to save the day.
