I know no one will believe me but the Mule is running on a Trolhole carb.
Just need to add a spring as the accelerator cable is sticky and that will require fabbing a little bracket. Then I have to make room on the dash for the choke cable. That will require welding and new hole drilling. Then I need mounts for the airbox.

Also, if anyone has an extra plenum (aka carb insulator) laying around 2bbl with the 1/2 PCV valve tube coming off it I need one. I took the one I had on the Gazoo off to do the install.

I've got an insulator off a late model 2F. It's in a for sale thread in the classifieds if you want a pic.

Holla if that is the one you need.

Has it got the 1/2 tube coming of it or just the small vacuum line inlet on the side?
Post a pic here if you don't mind.

Thanks. I just found it in the fs section. What is the diameter of that tube? I have never seen one with the bend in it.
Looks like close to 3/8 od?

Something like that. It's pretty small. Does your PCV connect to the insulator? Mine runs to the intake manifold. This would probably clog in no time if used for that.

Yeah. It does. I have one like that of a late 60 bur it is even smaller. I will peruse the classified and see if I can find an early one. Thanks though.

I had to relocate all the holes in the dash in order to fit a choke handle. But it does run great. I also made a braket to attach to the intake for another return spring.

Hope to get it buttoned up in a couple days. The hard part is done.

No, the hard part is not getting me in the shop. :flipoff2:

Where'd you get the decal for the airbox? I need to repaint mine on my '82, and repaint and finally install the one for my '73...

Haha.. u have to be kidding.. by how much?

Like an inch. The hook that holds the pole hits the new air box. I will just bend it....or move it forward a couple inches

Could you expand on why? Your truck originally had a manual choke so I am slow and could use more details on why everything needed to be relocated.

Makes sense based on hind sight. The original air filter box on your truck would have been in the front right corner of the engine bay with the hood strut mounted on the center of the hood. You now have an air filter box on top of the engine.

Could you use an off-center hood strut location like later model trucks? More work but you might be able to make it look cleaner with good functionality.

Everything had been relocated once. When I got the truck there were a dozen holes in the dash. I filled 6 of them and redrilled what I needed. Since I did not need a manual choke at the time, that was one of the holes that was filled - along with the myriad of others that people had drilled over the years. I evenly spaced the switches I was using and that left no room for a choke cable..

I might just take it out. I never use it. I always just put the hood up against the windshield. :meh:
And yep, in hindsight it does make sense. I just had not thought about it.

All buttoned up. Aftermarket cheap choke cable worked great. I am taking the opportunity to repair my busted and cracked dash so it will be some time before it goes back on.

How u going to fix dash?

Cutting out the cracks then filling them with some dash filler made by Permetex. I will sand that and then clean the dash with laquer thinner and shoot it with adhesion promoter, texture paint and then black clothe and interior paint like I did with the lower pads on the gazoo.
