Well. It is not running anymore. I am at 10 degrees and the truck is blasting out black choking smoke. I would normally think this is an over rich issue based on my pisspoor trouble shooting ability. I had a fuel pressure regulator in line when I was running the Weber and am wondering if I need to put that back in.

I had not driven it since I installed thew TH carb as I could not strap the hood down. Now that the hood can closed I was going to drive it but there is something terribly wrong. I am searching for the TH adjustment thread now but I expected this to be PNP like most people had experienced.

Are you using the OEM mechanical fuel pump and return line?

x2 should not need a regulator unless your using some sort of e pump

Yes, but no return line. It is a 72.

Does the TH carb expect a return line maybe?

It does not. TH and I have been troubleshooting it over the phone. For some reason the idle circuit clicks but, when unplugged the truck continues to run so it may be a couple issues

Looks like this carb is just not doing carb stuff. The idle cutoff does not do anything when unplugged. I have taken the whole thing apart and found no blockages or any other odd conditions. It is not getting too much gas to the bowl and the bowl will shut down the needle and seat.

The only condition that I know of that can result in such a huge amount of black sooty stinky smoke is an over rich condition. If anyone else knows of one let me know.

I went ahead and took the carb off and will have to figure out what is next later.

A monday this year?

:flipoff2:
That's it. I'm coming to your house to get you right now. You better be ready is all I can say.

Precisely. Gotta be out between 6 and 7 today too. I think the place is going to sell quick. We still can't get out until November.

So, we dropped Penny at ACC and are getting a beer at tge Brick Store.

Success!
Dunno what was up with the other one. Seemed to bee just pouring a ton of gas in a steady stream from the bowl at acceleration. A stream the size of a coffee stirrer. Took the truck around the hood and no issues. I had to adjust the idle just a bit and will have to time it again I think but it seems peppy and is running better than under the Weber for sure.

Thanks for the customer service Marshal!
