I have not posted a build on my other rig yet, fxxxer!

get the damn thing up here so I can read it... I am bored as s*** at work!!! Fxxxer!!! :D

Well, with the continued absence of my welder, I repaird the turn signal switch today and put the steering wheel back on.

*** I need a good welder!!!!!

Well, with the continued absence of my welder ...

If you have loaned it out and this is your subtle of asking for its return, a more direct may be your better option. The bride frequently states that I don't understand subtle and I may not be alone here.

Also, I thought you were working on the turn signals before. Not a god to all things electrical?

I actually did finish repairing the mechanical column switch and I reinstalled it on Saturday and put the steering wheel back on.

As I mentioned, a buddy, who is a very good pro welder was to come down and weld my steering scab plates on. He is normally very dependable but has not been able to make the time to get down here. Still waiting.

If you don't have it done by the time I get back from Moab, throw it on a trailer and bring it to my shop and I'll weld it.

I was thinking about calling Todd to see if he got his 220 back from Clutchee and just doing it myself. Jeebus

Clutchee is holding Todd's welder hostage and my "friend" has been a no show. I am about to weld that fxxxer on with my 110 wirefeed:mad:

:flipoff2: so you are completely done with the rest of the truck besides this weld? :D I need more pictures........... more information......... "due time" is now past time... :flipoff2:

I spoke to my welder buddy. He is in the process of finishing his kitchen. He gutted it about 2 and a half years ago. I guess wife comes first.

No, the whole truck is not finished, but if I can get these plates on I will be able to get it back together enough to wheel it.

The frame off is another matter. I still have not posted a thread. I have two parts orders I am waiting on, both over a month old. I have called one of the suppliers multiple times and they are claiming they are doing and investigation into a UPS loss.

The other I was going to give a few more days.

In the mean time, :princess: wants a patio and we had to replace our Desktop computer so a good month of saving is turning into a super bad one.

Edit: Great Youtube Video in the sig line

Here you go hippies.

I went ahead and fxxxed around with my 110 welder today. I definitely would not try to weld my scab plates on with it but I went ahead and welded on some spring gussets. Not a bad bead if I do say so myself.

Then I rebuilt my spare tire carrier.

04-25-09 002.jpg

The upright was centered when I bought the rig and I really did not like the placement so I tore it apart and moved the upright over about 8 inches. I added a couple brass bushing to make it tight on the mounts. I was going to get it blasted and powder coated but since I consider it temporary, I figure rattle can is good enough. I didn't even really prep it. Figure if I ever get this thing on the trail and it operates like it should I will drop some change on a 4+. I really like those.

One issue I discovered, my input shaft on the Saginaw box I have is a millimeter larger than my Flamming River splined univeral joint. I counted the splines and those are right. WTF:hmm::confused: There is no way those are going together. I gotta figure that out. Iw as going to spot weld the main plate in so I good get everything mounts to ensure it would work....well, it doesn't!:bang:

What I do not understand is that there are not a bunch of different input shafts. i mean there a 3/4 30, 36 and 48 spline. Spline count not with standing, the 3/4 is not large enough to fit one the input shaft. I am certain 1 inch would be way to big. I was kinda ready for this to just be a slip fit. It was clear it was not going to fit when i tapped it with a BFH.

Edit: Fxxx. I just discovered there is a 13/16 36 spline in the Summit catalog. 75 freakin' bucks. Guess that explains it.

Going to PDX all next week so no hope of anything good happening then. I am getting another 2F engine donated to me. I am probably going to need someone to go get it in DT Chattanooga. It is crated.

OK - so I am as tired as you fxxxers waiting on the welding. This is the latest.

I went to Advance today and cored my Fleabay steering box for one form a Jeep J20 Pickup. That should have a 4 bolt mount and a 3/4 input. I spoke to a guy who knows a guy that is nearby who is a wheeler and a certified welder. At this point I do not care if I gotta pay. I can't move the truck and my buddy has not come through.

I talked to the welder and he said he would come out and take a look and then drag what ever he needed to the house to do the welding. He was pompous and acted like I was totally shade tree but I do not care. I want my s*** finished.

I will be in PDX and Seattle all this coming week but after I will get this fxxxing s*** D U N - done.

I am going to get a new radiator from Advance (about the same price as dan but a lifetime warranty) and all I need to locate is the right size belts from Napa and a high pressure hose and I will be back on the mother bitchin road.

Keep yure fingers crossed.

:bounce::steer::bounce:FTW!!! I HAS POWER STEERING!!!!!:bounce::steer::bounce:

Well almost anyways. I paid a guy to come weld my junk. He did a great job and I actually felt bad he was going to charge me so little so I hooked him up. I am stoked. You can see from the pigs that I got all the plates on, primed and painted the mess and remounted the fender. I also got the steering wheel on straight and mounted the pitman arm (That was simple enough to get straight - it has notches so it will only go on one way) and I attached the steering shaft. The DD shaft rubs just a bit on one of the engine mounts so I will grind that down a hair. I also got my belts at Napa the other day and they are on.

Gotta get a couple bolts tomorrow and I am waiting on a new radiator to be delivered from Autozone. Yep, Autozone. $225 delivered to the house, all metal, lifetime warranty. That should be here be Tuesday. I will have some spare mornings to get all that mounted and get my PS cooler mounted. I have a fitting for the return line (the brass is in there to prevent junk from getting in the box) and the last thing is to figure out my high pressure line. I have the old fittings and there will get the dude who did my brake lines to make it while I wait or buy one of the Heep lines that can be modified to fit.

I AM FREAKIN STOKED!!!!
