A few small updates.

-My $15 catch can works. It's got a bit of oil in it. Score.

-I swapped to a set of Japanse clear tail light lenses out of boredom.

-I was given a great deal on an ARB Air Locker to go with my 4.11 gears in the 80 axle project.

-I finally fixed my vacuum cap door lock fix. I broke it after leaning on the door panel attempting to slide backwards down an icy shelf. Terrifying reminded why a good spotter can save your life.

Small victories. 336,000 miles and counting.

Is that locker and 80 axle happening before this years trip to SAS?

Need more hard lines at SAS. 😁

The last “hard line” bent my bumper.

Gotta get the 62 swapped before the 60 gets any more love.

I beer canned the side of the 60 at Roundup in Katemcy. Still had a great time.

The damage. Watch out for those holes. The rocks didn’t move.

Caught up on some details.

-dusted off the air filter
-new belts 35,000 miles on the last set since 2018.
-new plugs 10,000 miles.
-denso filter and Rotella synthetic 15w40 5500 miles.
-cleaned off the magnetic drain plug.
-drained the catch can. First time since November 2021. Lots of gunk caught and really clean plugs this time.

It’s pretty quiet and running great. I just need to fix my rattling heat riser flapper.

Leaving these here for those that have asked me about my catch can set up.

$15 from eBay and it works well. It’s just plumbed in line with my pcv.

The 60 is very uneventful.

My smog delete pulley is coming apart, I’m going to swap on a rebuilt Aisan by @mattressking and all the other systems are working well.

343,xxx miles and I still have no issues.

The smog pump delete pulley is getting noisey. Does anyone know what I can do to either replace the bearing or the whole pulley?

It’s a jimC kit and I’ve put about 80,000 miles on it. I’ve got play in the assembly now.

Make sure it’s the bearing and not the pulley loose on a seized bearing first. Then I’d be willing to bet the man himself may know the replacement bearing part number. Paging @FJ40Jim

If you can pull the bearing, Napa can mic it out and get you a replacement whether it seal or otherwise.

The bearing is molded into the fiberglass pulley. A replacement pulley is $24.95 plus 9.95 postage.

Email direct to my mud name at Gmail to get one.

Thanks!

@HemiAlex are you still running a return to center steering stabilizer?
No. It ended up wearing prematurely and causing some death wobble. The damper failed prematurely. I had maybe 25,000 miles on it. I didn’t need it after I swapped from those pulling toyo tires.

I purchased a pair of Dobinsons units for the 60 and 62. It cured the death wobble. I got the new dampers from @samc2447

Do you believe the Dobinsons stabilizer to be better than OME?
