Thanks Georg,
I may give you a shout about that.

I did just snag that power steering pump bracket that you sell this morning. If I were doing a power steering installation, knowing that you have all the stuff to do it would have me pushing the easy button.

Just gonna drop this right here….

Curious, what was the issue with the Dobinsons ?
They are legion!

There were several of us that got springs for our 40’s around the same time and there were some pretty major issues pointing to a bad batch (that at one point Dobinsons US essentially admitted to me then later retracted that).

- the spring eyes were oversized and rubbed/pushed against the frame

- one of my center pins was so cross threaded it essentially fell off when I undid it to install shims, luckily it was clamped down at the time. I checked the rest and sure enough another was cross threaded but to a lesser degree.

- weak AF… I had no hard top on when I went to SAS last and with just a cooler, some light tools and camping gear my rear springs were flat/bottomed out. Also blew a shock (new Bilsteins) in the front doing some minor wheeling during SAS.

- related to 👆🏼: if the truck sits for a week or so it starts to list to the driver side (me and spare tire). After driving it somewhat evens out.

There is a lot more, especially in regards to how the guys at Dodisons USA handled everything with not just me but the fellow 40 owners who got jacked.

I promised once I got through getting the 62 ready for SAS and the new clutch/t-case etc… on the 40 I’d deal with these hunks of crap.

unfortunate as that company has much better history & reviews of product.
I have them on my 62 and they’re fine.

Discovering that I wasn’t the only one, how they treated the other people I know of, the gaslighting (I have all our email correspondence and it is damning) and ultimately how the parent company blew us off even with proof is just a sh!tty move. In this case I vote with my dollar and speak with my voice.

Are they going to make it right?
I have to hold my hands up, put my toys back in my pram....
Apparently, the springs are correct.
They are rated up to 400kg. The blurb is unhelpful in its description.
With the Parabolics only one code is available, the difference in what you will receive, is dependent on what you have told them in regards to the loading you'll need. That dictates how many springs in your pack.
I have 2 leaves in my pack, which does makes sense. No winch, no big bull bar, just the odd supermodel, and they weigh nothing.
What still doesn't make sense is the bone juddering ride.
There are a couple of circumstances, I have body mounts to replace, and I was advised today that some miles will help bed them in.
Lets see.

There is only ONE OPTION when it comes to the TT FJ40 rear parabolic springs ( up to late 1980 ); their part number “TLC300P”.
In the parts description it says “Rear raised 50mm up to 400kg parabolic”.

That basically translates to 2” lift rear springs rated at 0-400 KG.
So if you carry more than an extra 400kg in the back of your 40, you’ll need a heavier spring.
The design of the springs allows for that range and you won’t put any load on the bottom leaf until you reach at least half of that load rating.

We’ve seen very positive feedback for these suspensions from other shops and end users. We’ve also installed dozens of these kits here at our shop and have been very happy with the results.

Again, some pics would be helpful in getting this potential issue resolved for you.

I have pallet in my shop with a new set of TT springs View attachment 4014564and considering putting them on a customers 60. He saw a 60 I built and sold last year that had an OME light duty setup on with 31’s and he wants me to replicate that look on his truck. Here’s a profile shot of the truck with OME/31’s.View attachment 4014575View attachment 4014576 He does not take the truck Offroad and it’s 100% stock with 144k on the odometer. Bought it at an estate sale from the original owners family. Very nice truck. So the ride is quality between OME/TT is not important. The stance with 31’s is important. I’ve done a lot of searching on the worldwide web and have found only a few sixty series trucks that have installed the TT system recently and this 61 is the only one I’ve seen with 31’s. But that unfortunately is before lowering the rear end by flipping the spacer blocks. Would love to see a good profile shot of a 60 with 31’s running this TT spring system. Also, if I understand this correctly, there is no way to lower the front end with the TT springs. Is this right?

Curious as well. Definitely thinking this is the route I’d like to go with my 60 eventually. For now I’m doing low buck mode with OME add-a-leafs in the stock packs.

Was just wondering about you and your new life up there. Hope you are kicking names and taking ass!

Life is grand! Already swapped cruisers… like I do.

Have about 20 miles on the new parabolic springs, what a great kit. Stance is perfect, ride is soft without being floaty. My wife likes to ride along on my test drives, without me pointing it out, she noticed the difference right away and commented how it wasn’t as rough as the usual 40s that come through the shop.

Keen observation. She said exactly what I was trying to explain previously. “…Soft but not floaty”.

I did about 45 miles today. The biggest difference I’ve noticed on NJ main roads…. Everyone in newer cars just steps on the gas with their 8 to 10 speed automatics. I’m still in 2nd gear getting up to speed around 25 or so and they are crawling right up my a$s. Now I could ram the pedal to the floor and snap that shift cane between gears but …what fun is that?

Looks like a really nice build, any more pictures or info you can share on it? I plan to do the TT parabolics with 33" KM3, which appears to be what yours has?
