I will look into it. I believe a wire needs to be grounded off of the controller. I remember researching the issue when I was making notes for the nav delete.
LX470Beast this perfect nav delete is incredible !!!! Up there with the front axle swap. Who owns an LX470 who wouldn't want to do this. Looks like jerryb might have info on this too. I have FSM for pre 2003 and after 2003 but post 2003 HVAC portion doesn't have wiring diagram. Do you have the parts list and wiring diagram to make this work?

I’ve got a 2003 LX470 which has the same stock Nav setup you had before. What’s visible in your new system is the digital/push button independent AC control panel(versus three knob style). To install that where my tape deck is now, I’m thinking I need more that just the button unit but maybe the whole lower plastic trim surround so it mounts nicely. Also, do the existing factory wires connect directly to that visible digital AC control or do the wires connect to some AC amplifier/ECU/board (that I might have to purchase separately) and then from the AC amplifier to the digital control panel. You mentioned some fix with a relay. I want to avoid cutting the factory harness. Were you able to locate connectors that plug into the factory harness so you can build your own harness? How about the connectors to the new digital panel. I saw your previous build. It looks like you did locate some connectors to attach to the Ethernet cables. Thanks for your help!!!

I got my parts list from JerryB post. I also believe he sells the wiring harness to minimize cutting of factory wires. In my case I cut and solder my wires.

Nav delete is about $1500 + cost of stereo equipment. Moving the mfc is 1/4 of that. I have the parts if your interested.

I’m sure you can move the buttons but you don’t really need to. A double din will easily fit on the current mfc location. If you move the buttons you will need a new facia. Besides the button is conveniently located so you can easily change ac settings without having to go to the moved mfc.
I know this is old, but if you still have the cables and faceplate you made when you moved the nav screen, I may be interested. Also, what made you decide to do the full conversion? Was there an issue with the relocation?

No issues with moving the parts whatsoever. In fact I had that way for about I a year before I did the full conversion. The full conversion is just a cleaner install was the main reason.
Great old thread. One thing that hasn’t been addresses that needs clearing up.

Zombie thread time: it’s cool to see the genesis of the legendary JerryB’s nav delete starting here. I gave up on the unicorn parts and don’t want the LC dash and after a few drinks thought “why not just move the screen” and ended up being lead to an @LX470Beast build I had never seen before. I think with this option plus a new alpine halo 11(and the help of CarTunes in Atlanta for a few faceplate fabrication parts) I can get a very clean look on the dash, and my sacrifice is a center console that I opened once to put a quarter in after a toll both and then one more time again 6 years later to take a quarter out of that was rattling around on a dirt road. If anyone is interested in this journey I began tonight let me know and I’ll post about it, but it looks like it’s all pretty well covered already. @LX470Beast just out of curiosity, am I extending every single wire in the harness on the back of the screen or are there a few I want to leave in the center console to connect to the new head unit.

It been a while but yes I extended all the wires. except for radio specific ones since I was not going to use the factory amp. I believe is used the power, ignition and remote turn on from the radio harmanes for my new radio. I helps if you can get a wiring diagram.
I’m deleting factory audio as well, so thanks for confirming, I’ll dig into a wiring diagram to see what needs to come off. I’m betting since you had previously put a new amp in, you’d already soldered in the resistor for the tape deck.
