It’s funny that you think it would have left the center console from a year ago. Consider it on the list.

I don't know a thing about cb's but I've read that you can tune the antenna's. I think i'd like to try that if someone can show me how to go about it.

Oil change and preflight checks on the 40 today. Few more days fellers and we will see you in Ouray...

Check your nuts.

Ubolt nut that is.

While under the rig checking, had two nuts missing on rear springs! Several were loose. Had tightened them a while back. Put some lock washers in and trimmed the ubolts. Boys helped out. They are pumped about being at SAS.

Thanks for the heads up CD. Figured while I had it up on the lift I would double check the torque. Sure enough almost all of mine were out of spec. A few were planning on escaping in route up. Tragedy averted and tires rotated. 60 goes on the lift next for fluids, oil change and nut & bolt check.

Anyone else bringing their kids bikes?

My son has finals and will not make it, I have a spot at KOA I was sharing with him if anyone would like to share a space let me know

Not liking that Matt isn't coming.
Thanks for sharing a spot Jeff.

We will have a few "official" spots open by the time we get there. Will have a better idea in a few days. If anyone is on the fence about coming now would be a good time to jump in.

Fired the 60 off this morning and drove it to work. It had to come out to get the 40 out of its parking spot. Both have not been started since April and both fired right off. That’s what I love about diesels.

All,

Due to a family emergency I will not be able to make it this year. I am really bummed I will not be attending.
If this affects anything logistically I apologize in advance.

Bummer. I hope all goes o.k. for you.

08/02/2018, we have lost a few people due to unforeseen circumstances. We have several spots available if anyone want's to make this. All of the people on the wait list are accounted for. If you are or anyone you know is on the fence we will have "official" swag available in Ouray. Might double check with the KOA for any spots that may open up.
Below is the current amended list of attendees.. If you have any questions or concerns please PM me. Last minute details are getting close to finalization. Thanks, Casey

Seeing the revised list above made me realize I haven't updated my vehicle change. I was all stoked about finally getting my fzj80 to Ouray but had a Blackstone oil analysis come back indicating coolant traces / potential early head gasket issue. My 80 has 225k on it and I believe it is the original head gasket so I have no complaints but won't tempt fate to see if it would make it. So....I will be flat towing my 40 for the event this year and am really looking forward to getting it on the trails.

So my line on the list now reads: @97 FZJ80 40th James ♠ TX FJ 40

In response to the prior post about kids, I am bringing all 3 kids (Female -15, Female-13 and Male-9). I have had a family cage in the garage for several years that was damaged in shipping from Man-A-Fre that I have since repaired and will be installed this weekend. Looking forward to that cool mountain air. As excited as I am about this trip, my wife is more excited to have the house to herself for a week.

That's a win-win there, quality fun time with your kids and your wife getting a nice break too. Well played.

Sorry but my fuzzy brain saw your comment about the family cage and all I could think of was one of those dividers to keep the dogs in the back of the truck.
Not that you'd put your kids in a cage, but that made me laugh for a second til my sense caught up.

That made me laugh hard! Putting them in a cage is not out of the question. I love to include them on my outdoor adventures whenever possible, but they do get a little out of hand after a day of driving.
