I returned from my vacation early. So now i have nothing going on again next week and the opportunity to attend is very possible again.

But again I have zero reservations at the camp site and all that fun stuff. I would really like to tag along if possible.

@POTATO LAUNCHER said there’s extra spots...I think.

Do we have an itinerary or schedule for each day? Not that it really matters, but just curious how you guys plan to coordinate the trail runs, break up into subgroups, etc. Any sort of meeting on Tuesday night to go over that stuff? I've got to work a bit in the morning but should be at the KOA by dinner time. Oh, and I've got a last minute personnel ad. A buddy is coming in from FL to ride shotgun. I assume that doesn't matter much, but FYI to the organizers.

Got my CB installed today and my quick 'n dirty bed platform is finished. Borrowed the Dometic fridge out of our camper van so I can keep the munchies cold and the beverages frosty. Wish I had the 200W of solar to go with it, but I figure I'll be driving enough to keep it chilly while running off the alternator. Too late to do the dual battery setup at this point. Oil changed, suspension torques checked, think I'm pretty much ready.

The majority of the trail run schedule is by show of hands around the campfire. This year we have 5 designated trail leaders to offer just about any option. Nothing is by the clock or set in stone.

So this is the "how bad do you want to go" test for me.

Got the suprise (formerly) leaking gas tank back in this morning and its great. Went to do a transmission fluid swap tonight and no flow! Fluid in pan looks pretty bad. I've seen worse but it is cloudy and smelly. Hoping its just a blocked cooler line and easy fix. If not, I have a used transmission sitting in the shop so might be an emergency swap job.

I wanna go!

So it looks like i will be going after all. With my late entry anyone have any camping space they are willing to share at KOA? I will help pay for half the cost of camping. It will be myself and possibly my dog as well.

Ill be traveling from Tucson AZ in an HJ61. First long road trip for it!

Jim, thanks, I like that. My Uniden CB mounting bracket is similar. The cupholder can go, our new cupholder from BH3D printing arrives in tomorrow's mail. Fits right in the front of the FJ62 console.
I may have to rethink using that real estate for the CB. I ordered two BH3D cupholders, one for the FJ62 console in my '86 FJ60 and one for the console in my '76 FJ40. It turns out the FJ40 cupholder is almost the same dimensions as the stock FJ60/62 "cupholder" (it's a little longer), and I think I can easily adapt it to mount to the side of the console in the '86.

My wife Kay is going. There'll be a lot of other wives going as well.
My bride says that’s enough wives, no one else has to go.

Asking for a friend... Does the camp ground have hot water for showers??

There are two bath / restrooms from what I recall. Maybe someone will chime in that has stayed there. @cornboy

Speaking of CB's,
@NookShneer please put my SWR meter in your truck tonight before it gets forgotten! ;) May be a few folks who need to tune antennas last minute! They are rarely spot on out of the box and it makes a huge difference.
I,ll bring my SWR CB tuner as well.(with instructions) Any one is welcome to use it.:bounce:

Hey @Dumpolina @pappy anyone from High Desert Cruisers want to take a spontaneous adventure! I believe some spots have opened up for the SAS aug.7-11 It's going to be sweet!:steer: any takers?

Looks like HDC club from Albuquerque are on their annual Ouray camping/wheeling trip right now! I should be more active.

To anyone having trouble getting a camping spot - I booked an extra reservation with KOA back in March for some friends that can't make it. It is a "Tent" site as described on their website. I called KOA today and asked if I could transfer the reservation to someone else in our group and the representative didn't know how to do it but was going to call me back. PM me if you need it. I will hold on to it until late tomorrow and then cancel.

It's awesome to see everyone's final progress towards hitting the road. My "family" cage gets media blasted and primered today and then I'll weld seat belt tabs and button it all up. All occupants will have 3 point/shoulder and lap protection.

The FJ45 wanna be in me loves the look without the top. If safety were not an issue, I'd drive it like this all the time...
