SOLD.

Not really wanting to sell, but would like to move on to a different project and this one has to go in order to make progress on the other one.

Originally brought to the U.S. by Spector Offroad from Chile, was told it came from the Chilean Army.

Converted to 3B-T with H55 (5 spd) transmission

Fresh rebuild on the 3B, with Engines Australia rebuild kit and new Engines Au. head Still breaking in the engine, I've got about 300 miles on it.

Jefferson State Machining Turbo kit with new exhaust

New Exedy Clutch, resurfaced flywheel (had .5 mm step machined into flywheel per 13BT spec)

New EGT/Boost gage along with autometer water temp and oil pressure gages

60 series axles with 3.7 gears, disc brake front, drum rear, front shackle reversal, needs bump stop relocation brackets on front. The axle moves backwards with the shackle reversal, so I've pulled the front drive line off, until I get this sorted out as it may need shortened.

60 series power steering, rebuilt steering gear from West Texas Off Road

315/75/16 BFG AT tires – need replaced, new Goodyear Duratrac spare on new matching rim, Cragar Soft 8 16x7

New OME front shocks and steering stabilizer, needs new rear shocks.

It needs some work, but a great start, it runs, drives and stops, all lights work, gauges work, has Wilson switch for glow plugs. Needs a new top as the zippers are blown out on this one and it didn't hold up to the sun at all. No parking brake as the cable is too short.

Has lap belts up front, no seat belts in the rear. Just added 40 series seats to the rear for ‘Troopy’ seating as the original seats were MIA.

Not much rust, it looks like the driver's and passengers floor boards were replaced, and need replaced again. a bit of rust on the rear channel below the doors. Rear doors need some work.

Clear Idaho Title, titled as a 1972 as that’s how it came to me. Located in Boise, Id.

Hi, just for clarification, hard to see from the pics; is that brownish paint or rust covering the hood and front fenders? Thanks GLWS

Brownish paint. Experimenting with colors...

It's not a rust bucket by any means, but it needs body work. Driver's and passenger's floorboards are probably the worst, along with the rear doors. I think SOR replaced the fenders as they're black primer on the interior and everything else on it is olive drab.

I'll get some more photos up by the weekend.

It's a really cool rig. I definitely don't understand the way these things oxidize paint at different rates on different portions etc. I think the three way sort of patina it's got is sort of cool though glows

Answering some PM'd questions here too:

Ebrake handle is there, ebrake originally was on the tcase, but that original tcase is gone and it's now on the rear axle. I have the 4* cable, which is way too short, I have the 60 series cable which is the right length for the axle end, but is too short to reach the handle, and I acquired an 80 cable, which is a bit wide on the axle end (80 axle is wider than 60) and may reach the handle, but I haven't tried too hard to make it work, I was going to see if Lokar had something to extend a cable to make one of them work.

Mechanically it's close. It has driver's side lean, I want to get the body mounts replaced, then pull springs and get it sitting level. I haven't rebuilt the axles, it could use seals and bearings as I've no idea when that was done last. The brake pedal is hard, compared to my other cruisers, it has the original booster and it was 4 wheel drum originally. I have the 60 master and booster assembly with proportioning valve that I was going to swap in.

I'd say tires ($1k), top ($2k), body work and paint ($5k?) in that order. It probably needs $10k of work to be considered 'done' if they ever are done.

Tires need replaced sooner rather than later, I've already had one blow out.

Sprung under with OME FJ60 rear springs with overload removed in front and stock springs in rear with overload removed.

I'll get some photos up this weekend.

What is the soft top made of, and would you consider selling just it (depending on material)? It could make a great pattern, even with blown zippers & such.

It's vinyl. My plan was to send it to Trollhole and have him use it to make a new top. The new owner will have to work that out though.

Even though this top is coming apart, it works better than a blue-tarp with bungee cords which is what I'd have to do if it goes topless, so I'll keep this top on it for now.

Just to clarify, I make & sell soft tops too, so that would be my purpose with it. I could offer you (or the new owner) a really good deal on a brand new, premium Colorado built top when I was done with it...

Best
