I double checked the DUI to make sure I was not 180 out or had the sequence incorrect.

The plugs have some fuel smell but they have not detonated.

Somewhere in my unwrapping of wires last night the hard short in the ENGINE circuit is gone. The 15a does not pop anymore.

To confirm it's not losing 12v when I engage the starter at the coil I ran a new wire that ran directly to the battery.

It's got to be something inside the DUI even though I'm seeing spark on my tester.

Gas is showing 1/2 in the sight window.

So it's got air and fuel. Gotta be something spark related. Gonna go eat something and think on it some more

I text @FJ60Cam to check me on this. He immediately came up that I was 180* out on the dissy.

Problem is, I already tried that yesterday.

Seeing that it's super easy on a DUI to just swap the wires themselves 180* I dutifully followed his advice.

No start but I felt the slightest bump of fire.

I rotated the dissy a few degrees counter clock and it bumped again.

Bingo.

Still no start. I rotated it a hair more then removed the choke and put the throttle to the floor and bam. Fired up.

So. 180* out and flooded.

Now I can breathe again and concentrate on doing what I can on this wiring so Sam can drive it.

I am trying to get the lights working so I can install the front end and work toward getting this thing out for a test drive

Gauges first. FYI on this truck, the gauges only work if the ENGINE fuse works.

Also, the PO has installed a water temp wire directly to the post on the gauge in the cluster. Assuming there is a reason for that I replicated it with a Vintage TEQ kit and YES. It works.

The oil pressure sender is the 2 post version and I got a wire kit for it from V TEQ as well.

Great pressure. Fuel gauge works too.

Nothing on the amp meter. It's just sitting center but the alternator is pumping out 13.7

I've got all 4 running lights, Brake lights and blinkers all around. Huge relief.

Now I've got to find some headlights and I'll be very happy

This truck had some oddball headlights and harness that was one of the first things I ripped out. Somehow they were tied into the system but honestly I don't remember how now.

It does not have any female H4 plugs on either side of the vehicle.

When you add a Koito kit you only have to plug in the new harness into the H4 light on the passenger side.

So I took that clump of wires that were chopped off and located a ground and a red/green and red/yellow.

Boom. I have lows and highs.

Problem is, they won't go off with the switch.

All of thr others are working on the switch but the headLAMPs just stay on.

I decided I wanted to end this day on a positive note and went ahead and built out the front end.

I'm going to slap the driveshafts in and the shifters tomorrow and get it out on the road
