Engine is in!!!

Its been worth the wait. Lance and his crew installed my Ram Jet today, got the whole thing wired, skid plate, and the steering is done. Should have the drive shafts in early next week along with gas lines and custom stainless exhaust.
This thing could start next week:cool:

awsome.................something to shoot for, what have you decided on the vents?

Lou

Vents?

Lou I'm not sure what vents your talking about? If you mean hood vents then you must have a crystal ball because its something I have thought about to help vent hot air but have never written about it. Let me know, thanks

Lou

was thinking something in that way; we did a lot of that when racing to keep the engine cool and happy

firewall

Thanks, the firewall was speedlined in Cygnus White it came out ok, looks better in pic's but I'm not complaining. I ordered two sets of the narrow vents. The large vents would not work due to the raised portions of the hood which is 6 1/2 inch max, so i might use the narrow vents end to end or side by side, it should help vent, just not sure how they'll look.

Vent Pic's

Nothing new to report on the engine, I'll get down to IPOR on Thursday and take some new pic's. I received the vents today and shot a few pic's on the hood of my IS350, They'll look ok painted white to match the hood.

New Pic's

Lot's of good stuff to report. Went down to IPOR today to check out the Piggy, Lance does great work! Power steering completed with a Borgsen steering shaft, Big skid plate, Front floor supports, the left ft was opened up from inside the cab, treated surface rust and closed up, Right ft was completly rebuilt. And a few shot's of the engine. Lance was ready to start on the exhaust and have it running for the weekend, but it would still need to have the a/c installed and a few other things and I know he wants to attend the Smoky Mt event and has to finish three or more trucks that plan on attending, so he'll finsih my truck after that. It will start before the end of the month.

I'm pretty excited, its was nice to see all the work they got done last week. The stack of parts that have called the back of my truck home
for the past year are gone. Your truck is almost done, they were running wires and I know you still need some part of the wiring harness
to complete the wiring. What year LX or Landcruiser works, Lance indicated it's a resister that cannot be purchased but comes with the harness. Would a totaled LX or Cruiser work. I can check with our bodyshop regarding totaled trucks, let me know. We've got to get you done! Have you checked with the Mudders?

Lou,

This is the first I am really hearing about the Resistor. I think it might have something to do with the Tundra inline fuel pump. I am surprised that there is parts missing, I was under the impression Lance ordered the fuel lines, and fuel pump directly from Toyota. I am going to head down there tomorrow and see what parts they might need and then I will be searching high and low.

Ryan.

Hey there,

I was reading about your vent idea.... just wanted to point out that I had ambient temp issues in my pig's engine bay with TBI 350 at first.. then I switched from the solid side apron vents to the ones that are actually vents and the problem ceased... I also moved a couple electronic parts away from the engine and to the inner fender which helped. Since then, no issues... mis dos centavos..... sweet build BTW, so clean....

Thanks for that info regarding the side vents cus I really don't like the look of the vents but there's a local company called Area 51 they have
a machine that can cut and stamp vents in my hood like the 40. The only problem is they don't answer the phone and don't return phone call's so I have no idea how much that would cost. Did you cut your factory side vents? Obtainable already cut?
Thanks
Lou
