Heat generated by these lights is much lower than conventional halogen and HID, but there is still heat generated at a level that prohibits snow/ice buildup as far as we can see. We have hundreds of lights up in the Alaska region, 50-60 on the "Ice Road Truckers" crew alone. All of the camera trucks and 10-12 of the drivers are running them with rave reviews. We have not had one complaint on buildup. The E-Series runs about 135-145 degrees mostly on the rear of the unit on the heatsink, it keeps the light warm enough to prohibit freezing over. Good question though, thanks for the inquiry.

i was really wondering about this too. i live in Bristol Bay, AK and i'm looking into lighting. i'm friends with Traves Kelly, husband of IRT's Lisa Kelly. grew up with him here riding dirtbikes

Love that show....

You can't leave empty tabs just lying around...

Treeroot,

Are these the D2 or the regular duallys? Did you add those mounting tabs? I am 90% sure my shortbus doesn't have tabs there. How do the duallys do compared to the 14"?

Thanks,
Ryan

These are the regular diffused duallys and not the D2s. I welded the tabs on the Shortbus before powdercoating it. Christo did add tabs to the later runs of bumpers. As far as light goes, I'm waiting for the sun to go down ;)

Cool topic and nicely done bumper/lighting setup. :)
FWIW here's the D-2's with my amber filters off.

Compared w/ the high beams.

High beams and downtilted D-2's.

*YMMV since they're not on an 80. ;)

im installing a 20" on my Volvo 4x4Truck and 2 6"s for looking round the corners in the jungle. Cannot wait to see the finished product towards the middle of April.

Once finished I am doing the same to my serious JUNGLE Landcruiser.

Man thats a NICE 80 but over here the lights are way too low :)

Has anyone put one of these on an ARB bumper yet? I'd be really interested in putting one of these on my ARB but I'm not sure how that would work, if at all.

Luke, does that mount directly to your tabs, or are you using a bracket? I'm running an identical ARB on my LX.

That is one good looking truck! I'll be thrilled if I can get mine looking that good when I'm done. Speaking of which, where did you get that grille?

Lately ive been thinking. As you know, these bars are very expensive and although I consider theyre worth it, I just cant justify spending that kind of money on lights alone.

I had always thought about a 20in E series bar. How do the SR series compare to these? Will a 20in SR series bar do well by itself??

Will a 10in E series be worth it by itself?? I mean, would a single 10in E series bar have enough power for it to replace my halogen spotlights??

Does anybody have nightshots of these??

Any hood glare on the 50" roof mounted? I see some light on the hood, so I guess it's a question of how annoying(or not) is it?
