Installed my new @Delta VS Panhard Lift Bracket this afternoon....the claimed 15 minute install is MUCH greater on a well worked POS like mine, but the effort was 1000% worth it... $250 well spent. NO more rear end wiggle when in/out of the throttle. Able to go back to a stock rear panhard. NO contact on the drivers side Timbren bump. Noticeably better handling for the short run I just made.

FJ80 Delta Panhard Lift Bracket

FULL test next week, Rubithon and back.....but first impressions are excellent :)
I saw this bracket under an 80 as I stood by watching the entire wagon group descend Big Sluice but had no idea who was driving the rig. I told myself I wanted to check out that bracket once back at the spring but it slipped my mind. Wish we had met but maybe next time and that bracket looks like a good piece.

And what of the lateral loads this panhard riser will apply to the upper control arm bracket? I spoke with Dave at Delta VS and he suggested a 5” tall riser for my particular set up. It seems like this will apply significant lateral loads to the control arm bracket. Too bad these are new on market leaving us with no emperical data to draw on.

Sounds like Woody likes it and I know he isnt shy on driving hard and putting things through the paces :hillbilly:

Phil and I have discussed this very thing in the past and agree we could do without the rear "wiggle". To get the rear end to plant better would be a positive ~ looking forward to another review

Id be very interested for one myself.

woody, no issues with clunking or anything? i had the old maf drop bracket and it clunked like a mofo. i know i need another alignment after changing out springs and shocks for the fourth time, but i'm sure i'll still have some of the rear kick.

just hate to waste more suspension money after all i've wasted so far.

Very nicely engineered part with a excellent fit. I see zero issue going forward.

Also the MAF lower the frame side where as the correct way is to raise the axle end.

Zero issues, new noises, or new/unexpected movements...before or after the Rubicon. I'd like to think the 1300 mile round trip was a sufficient test :)

I provided measurements earlier and with a 5" riser you will need to space the bump stop 4" to avoid conflict with the frame.

Been doing some real world testing and I come up with only needing a little more than 2" bump stop to avoid conflict using a 5" riser. With that said personally I would feel 100% comfortable running a 2" bump stop without concern.

A detailed write up (with pictures:)) to support my findings soon.:D

Full disclosure - Delta Design has include LCP in there product distribution. Available on our website also.

My bracket should arrive today!

One small installation tip - Because the static position of the panhard changes with the new bracket it needs to reset and torqued. I found it easier to remove the panhard completely until the bracket is set and reinstall and set the final torque in its new static position.

Is you panhard horizontal (parallel) with the frame?

As in horse shoes or hand grinades?

Thankfully no experience with hand grenades :meh: so I will have to go with horseshoes by default:D

Edit 1.8° at ride height with no occupants, only 5 of 40gal of fuel, and no food/beer. All other weight is constant.

Are you going to carry the 3" version on your site or the 5" version?

From what I know at this point only the 3" will be standard anything else will be special order. Although I can/will assist anyone if they want anything special but you would be better served to contact Delta direct. If that changes and other models are available I will also stock the part. For 90% of the guys the 3" will work great and a big improvement in what they have been dealing with over the years. I can feel the difference going over speed bumps at the mall, not earth shattering but noticeable. Everyone like a little swagger in a rear end its the jiggle that is not wanted.;)

Finally had time to install mine on the 4th. I loosened up both ends of the panhard and upper links to reset everything while I was there. Went in with a little effort and a pipe wrench. On my 93 the abs wire and metal tube needed to be altered a bit, but it works. It noticeably better when driving. Zooming thru the mountain roads here, the truck “tracks” a bit better and feels a bit more square when hitting bumps and dips on straightaways. Less wiggle.

I’m running stock arms, 2.5* of caster and rear lift is at 23.5” center of hub to flare.
