Picking away at a few things this morning. The rear harness is about 85% installed. I had forgotten to chase the threads on the radiator support and that is now complete. The ignitor and coil needed to be cleaned up. I sandblasted both but unfortunately the coil didn’t make it out alive. I’d rather it start leaking in the blaster than over the new paint on the fender.

I can't wait for the day that your rig finally gets fully assembled and hits the road!

Me too, it’ll be a great feeling to get this project finished. The rig is supposed to be picked up by painters for final assembly in 2 or 3 weeks. Hopefully we don’t have any surprises.

When I went to clean the coil in the blasting cabinet, it started to leak. Ordered a new coil and restored the bracket in prep.

Also, 3 point seat belts are installed. The seatbelt bolts are 7/16” - 20 NF. The only SAE bolt on a 40. Coincidentally, the extra bolts that come with the early OEM lapbelts are the right size.

While picking away at buttoning up the engine, I kept an eye on the smoker.

Coil/ignitor is ready to be installed.

The late 70s fog lamp switch looks out of place on an early 70’s dash. The older knob fits and doesn’t look too new. The only things left on the dash are the Vintage Air climate control dials and the choke cable.

This morning I fired the 2f up for the first time since we’ve had it. After sorting out a blocked fuel inlet that was preventing the bowl from filling, she started right up and ran great. It’s nice to see what she’s doing down to the 10s of RPMs on the Dakota Digital cluster. I wanted to make sure there are not any leaks or other areas of attention before the freshly painted front end is installed. I’ll dial it in before the first drive.

I had a few minutes this afternoon and started to move the brake and clutch lines to about where they’ll live. Hopefully, I’ll get some time tomorrow to finish them up and sink them home.
