These vents are shot. I think I'll pop them off and use fuel line to vent them all to the firewall with a little fuel filter. Should be a very simple mod following some info linked below.

Finally extended my breathers
T-Case Breather Removal?

Fresh gear oil and I'm glad I ordered a bucket pump. I torqued plugs on the TC to 27 ft/lbs and the rest to 36 ft/lb. I found a torque value chart in the FSM but it was for certain bolt classes and sizes, and I didn't know what my new plugs were. I found an old torque value thread on here and just went with that. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but the truck seems to run and drive better already with this baselining.

Toyota Now simply Puts the Breather at the top of the Fuel Line that extends up into the wheel or fender / engine bay area up away from the axles & T-case , to help eliminate moisture infiltration

at lease on all the modern toyota's i owned last 15+ years

the fuel filter idea is great for keeping fine particles out , but has NO check valve for moisture Keep out ..........................

You should get in touch with @CandyPants in Houston. Cruiser chick that is all about 40's and she is also on the TLCA board. Great resource and a great friend so look her up. Great looking 40 btw. I've got a nice 78 as well.

@RAGINGMATT Would a new breather stuck in the end of the fuel line suffice?

Nice 40 @reddog90! You've done some great work to it!

What did this one run you, if you don't mind me asking? Feel free to shoot me a PM if you wanna keep it on the DL!

I'm having a hard time deciding on the priority of things to do next:

tires & steelies
steering & brakes (knuckles, TREs, drag link, center arm, possibly steering box, refresh brakes front & rear)
suspension (try to reuse my springs but possibly just start over with a new 2.5" kit).

Any advice? These are big ticket items for me and unfortunately I can't do them all at once.

Steering & Brakes are Life Safety items on your check list ..........

also , worn ones will affect how your new Tires , & New Suspension will end up performing once installed

one impacts the other so to speak

btw,
Look how those OEM White Wagons Sparkle & Glisten on a Warm Sunny Houston Afternoon

Thanks guys. Anyone have a lead on an affordable knuckle alignment tool? I haven't seen them in stock on Trail Tailor's website in a long time. I've heard of members lending them out as well but I don't know who to contact.

I have another batch in the lathe now. Be a few more days.

Commencing center arm rebuild.

There were two bolts mounting the center arm to the frame right below the bib. Does anyone know if the nuts inside the frame for these bolts are welded in place? I got the bolts out fine and cannot budge the nuts inside the frame. Nuts and bolts came off the driver side frame rail just fine.
