You can not get a trailer without brakes, if the trailer including load capacity goes over 750kg brakes are mandatory.
I have 2 possibilitys for the lpg, one is 2 small ones in front of the rear crossbrace or one in front of the cargo space, There is going to be a teak deck on top of the cargo area, hence the space under floor for the sadlle, so it will be out of site.

Our laws regarding brakes are similar. I've run with 2000 kg and no brakes... That said my rear discs are originally from the front of a 3000 kg vehicle.:hillbilly:

You still need a lot of weight in your rear axle.

Truck alone has 1150kg on the rear axle. Trailer empty +100kg. Loaded, +300kg as a guess. I wouldn't recommend it though, especially if not very experienced towing.

Had a small issue when working on the cruiser yesterday.
While working I heard a strange noise like something was tearing up. Couldn't identefy what it was and continued working. At the end of the day my neighbour came to look at my progress. He asked me if I was cold, didn't understand what he ment and continued working. When I came in I found out.:o:lol:

Seems I was working like this all afternoon:bang:
Luckily I was wearing cycling shorts underneath.:p

do these pants make my arse look fat ?

I'm not fat I'm just under tall............or gravitationally challenged

Well a bad day in the office, lots of canceled flights so a lot of extra work and no results. Reason is the bad weather, snow.
Just finished clearing out the driveway for the 3th time this weekend, good for my weight but bad for working on the cruiser.:bang:

Got one thing done this weekend, managed to get the corner iron for the deck bend.
And because I know you guys like pictures and no story's I put one in with the main reason for doing this (at least thats what I tell my wife):D

I think you're doing some good work on the sheetmetal. Front springs can be flipped also. Front wheels forward can effect the overhang of the front bumper on a rocky trail. I used to tow a boat with a small Jeep. No problems for years. GVW of trailer 3,750 lbs. One day in a crosswind the rig jack-knifed at 15 mph. It felt like the tail was wagging the dog. No injuries but your life passes before your eyes. I now have a 71 Fj40 and have reconsidered it's role as a tow vehicle. If you injure
your wife's horse she might mention it to you once or twice for the rest of your life. In fact your gravestone might read "Good man, but he hurt my horse"

Do you actualy think she will let me drive with the horse in the trailer?:lol::lol:
No way she will let me. I am just needed for parking.
A horse trailer is well balanced and has 4 wheels, the horses stand on top of the axle and I considering to put a stabilizer on the hitch.
If you put the weight to far back it lifts the rear and the car will be swang arround like the ball on the end of the chain, weight to far front and the front of the car will start to do other things then you try to do with your steering.:bang:
Thanks for the heads up do.
Decided not to do anything with the suspension for now, this one will only see light off road so it's not worth the hassle.
I hope the weather clears up then I can take a few days of after xmass to work on the cruiser.

Time to UP SIZE the drawers Michael!!!:lol:

Small update, need the attention Keith:D, finaly got something done today. It was kinda hard with Xmass (mother in law visiting:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:) and the :princess: todo list.

Cut the hole in the cargo floor to exact size and started on the reinforcements in the wheel wells. Next up cut the beam in front of the wheels and fabricate a bracket underneath to atach the tub to the frame then weld the frame in and start to put the sides in.

Not shure on the body mounts, can I just put in a slab of rubber or does it need dampening top and bottom like the pic.?

Didn't take pictures today but will post some later in the week.

Factory had rubber top and bottom. But they hard rubber and didn't flex much.

I used a hockey puck (round slab of rubber) on one side and it has worked for the past 18 years. Some people have suggested that pucks make the ride harsher, however I don't see how they could make a significant difference.

I think it affects noise more than ride quality... but again, splitting hairs in a 40.

Im with these guyz on this. I havent done this yet after the cargo area rebuild, so ill let you pioneer this.
However, I was planning on using basically any kind of poly rubber spacer for this, similar to what 3dog is using. Nothing too fancy as it is an FJ40. I got the FJ40 bushing kit from energy suspension, and used the new bushings everywhere else on the BM and tub. A "while I was there" sort of deal, but Im still a little stumped on how I wanna run those rear mounts and bushings.
Ill look forward to see what YOU come up with.

My floor is also made out of 1/8" steel, so I think they'll be even less difference in noise levels. :D
